Got some extra cash -- Which Mod?

Hey guys... Got a few extra bucks, looking to spend them wisely. Thinking of a couple of things. Not sure which to do first... Thoughts...

1. FSTB and RSB - would improve handling greatly since I don't have lowered springs.

2. Catback Exhaust - I have a great custom guy by me. Was thinking about going custome made 2.5" SS piping with the stock Muffler or would buying one be better.

3. Tint

RSB will help with handling significantly.

Tint...hold off until next summer, when you'll really want it.

2.5" ss piping with stock muffler I don't see the point. It won't improve performance by any significant measure, and it won't improve appearance either.

It depends really waht you are looking for. If yo are a handling minded person then I woud go with the rsb. If you are looking for performance gains then get a ypipe.

Looking for the largest bang for the buck... Go for the tint. Makes an amazing difference.

Would say FSTB and RSB, but might as well do springs and struts first as that is the best improvment.

I have the Tokico Blues with Stock SE springs... Recently installed.

Otto FSTB and Progress RSB.
I think this is the best mod for night now. Thanks guys.

Where should I buy? I just checked eBay and it looks like it could be the right place. Unless there is an online store with better pricing.

get some decent springs. it'll make a much better difference in terms of handling. IIRC, i read that suspension bars help stiffen your ride based on your suspension, so getting stiffer springs would probably make a bigger difference than getting fsb and rsb with your stock springs.

If you wanna retain your stock like feel, get maxspeed (or goldline?). It is the closest to stock, subtle drop, and handles much better.

If I had $500. I would get the RSB & B-pipe.

www.cattmanperformance.com for the RSB $139

www.lssexhaust.com for an SS b-pipe $260 Canadian w/Resonator or $200 Can. w/o resonator.

If you are keeping the stock muffler, go for the one w/o a resonator. It will still be quite.

So for around $300 you have 2 parts and some extra for labor or another part if you DIY.

You can get the Otto FSTB on eBay and the Progress RSB from Cattman Performance. Check out the Cattman weekly sales in the Group Deal section.

lss is aka for Budget.....I wouldn't give a cent to those guys after hearing about so many fitament problems and terrible customer service. Them or warpspeed.

If you're going to get a ypipe or bpipe, go Cattman.

I would get front strut bar and a rear sway bar

but springs and sturts are around that price range and they will improve your handling and apearance.

I would say to do the suspension mods... The Max hadling is crap from the factory.

Thanks for all the replies guys... I decided to not put Springs on, hence why I only changed the shocks. I will though, go ahead and buy the FSTB and RSB today...

Thanks again for all the info and all your insights.

Thats cool. I dont think the FSTB does much for the car, atleast in the 4th gen. It's more for appearance. It's an easy mod. You can get one on E-bay for around $25.

The RSB I heard was a nice Mod. I'm planning on getting one soon.

The B-pipe will take out the large factory resonator, which will give you some more ponies.

Cattman now has a third generation of headers? I thought they just started producing the 2nd gens...

or are you guys just talking about the use of a different manufacturer (and very slight differences in the length of the primaries)?

i always start with where the car is lacking to most. in this case its the handleing. stb and rsb would put u back about $200 bucks. u ud still have a lil extra for other mods

personally id spend soem money on keeping the car up on maintence. sadly some of our cars are starting to age(yea i know, theyve starting aging from day one. and some of ours are only a few years old)and proper maitainance is key to a proper running car. no point in trying to add power thru modding when ur losing power due to old spark plugs, or a clogged cat or whatever.

ive just noticed that thru my own car, being a 00 shes starting to get worn in spots(even at 76k), but when i fix those spots i notice more gains than i do thru modding. ie. ball joints, new sparkplugs, fuel fiter, mms, just little things like that can make a huge difference.

im not trying to say be any means ur car is unkept or anything, mearly stating that a well kept car with basic mods can be quite enjoyable. theres not alwasy a need to go crazy and poor lots of money away.

Meant to vote tint; voted catback on accident.

Tint is always useful, and done properly, always stylish.

Catbacks put you on the road to ricerdom, and if you wanted that you would've bought a Honda.
