Hum/Vibration from rear of car.

I have developed a hum and a vibration form the rear of the vehicle. it only happens at certain mph, like 30 and 42. Are there any common issues I can look for?

Tires could be not in balance, hub/wheel bearing could be going.

After cruizing around and hearing this noise, feel the rear rims, are they hot? Is one hotter than the other? I had this same noise and it was a sticking caliper in the rear. This may not be your case but it's a good place to start looking. Not to mention the rear calipers are know to stick after a while. At least from what I've read.

I haven't had one go on me, but the clues from the FRONT are the vibration while braking, turning etc. You can check for play I suppose.

How can you solve the sticking rear caliper problem? I think mine are sticking. Would I need a caliper repair kit or something else to solve the problem?

the dealership will tell you that they just replace the caliper in question. I turn the piston in and a a few times and so far no more problems, I wouldn't recomend for a permanent fix thou, my problem still may return only time will tell.

Jack it up, take off the wheel, take off the caliper, Spin the hub by hand. Listen for noise. Also check for excessive play. I replaced the rear hub on my '96 about 3 years ago due to it making some noise. (At first I thought it sounded like the exhaust vibrating). If it is the hub you can only buy the complete hub (not just the bearings). Installation is easy though.
