"Service Engine Soon" light question..need advice.

today i noticed that my (SES) light came up. i am pretty sure its the oxygen sensor issue, i cant afford to replace the sensor at the moment so is it safe to drive on that light for few weeks or a month? and what if i just erase the code with OBD scanner without replacing the sensor you think the light will become active again? please advice..thanks in advance!

if it is in fact an issue with the 02 sensor, that would be reaccuring and if you erased the code it would come back on the next time you started the car.

Driving with it on for now wont hurt anything immediatly but its not something you want to leave that way.

I would go to AutoZone for a free code scan and find out what is going on. Quessing can be expensive.

No one can offer any useful advice if they don't know the codes. Pull the exact codes at any auto parts store for free, read through the Stickies, esp this one:

And if you still can't find your answer, then feel free to ask. In the meantime, this thread will be locked. PM me if you have questions.

And depending on what the code is, it may or may not be okay to drive around a lot with the CEL on, so that's another good reason to get the codes pulled.
