THIS IS ALOT OF MACHINE FOR THE $$$$.

I'll be trying one out myself, for the price its a 1/4th of a H701 for 6chs of equal flexibility-thats right every ch has no limitations. For eample the sub ch is not limited to LP only.

A little info...

All chs are BP/LP/HP capable- 20hz-20khz, in 1hz steps
6/12/18/24 db slopes (selectable filter types Linkweitz Riley OR Butterworth)
All chs have 7band PEQ (variable selectable Q of 0.1- 9.0)
All chs have level control, volume control.
All chs have TIME ALIGNMENT
Volume has 0db to -130db adjustable range
High voltage preouts

**No documented turn/off pops or alternator whine from a '06 G35 user

No graphic EQ or 180 degree phase flip are the only limitations. Quite frankly you can live without those.

Graphic use is for the kids that like lights. 180 phase shifting is commonly available on alot of amps nowadays..

you dont' have to go active to use it....but you can if you want. Inputs say f/r/sub but they might as well say input1, input2, input3.

True, but I have no need really, the amp has plenty of adjustment for me, and my gains are all the way down at the present time so the line driver would be useless.

Sorry for the newb question, but what is the difference in this vs. tuning off a high end alpine deck with time correction, eq, crossovers, etc built in?

This unit is better suited to run active 6chs that need the processing.
Alpine deck like a 9835 has ch1/2 HP, ch 3/4 bandpass, and ch 5/6 SUB (might as well be one ch as all you need is a mono output to sub)

All 6chs are independent on this processor. So you can run a fully active 3 way fronstge (tweets, midranges, midbasses) without limitations.(or use 5th/6th chs for sub). In my case i'd leave the simple use of sub for the HU and use the processing prowress for fronstage.

A bonus for some- Should you use the chs for sub, this units allows you a subsonic filter by use of a HP in the lower freq using the bandpass feature.

Alpine deck only has a 5 (or 7band) total- this unit has a 7band PEQ per ch.

Also much stronger preouts.

I bet at a orig $799 retail, this unit must incorporate some quality DAC's to carry these processing tasks that should be better than the 1 bit dacs on the 9835.

A unit like this really suits those that want to use an audiophile head that is usually feautureless, or a great asset for the AUDIO/VIDEO guys whose units usually LACK ample processing.

Go figure that 11 of these things would sell in less than 12 hrs. More than half of them to Orgers.

GUYS!
I just wired up the DCX! Chu(skylar112), Don(Pearl96max/6spdcoupe) , Derek (drocpsu ) and another local maxima owner who happened to having his installed in a 4th Gen maxima-were witness.

NO noise floor! At first, unit powers up having all settings maxed out by default and there is some. The hiss begins to disappear once you set the volume on the unit to -10 to the point where to me it was no longer audible at -15. At this setting I have intense volume capability- as loud as it was before putting the unit in- all gains remained the same on amplifiers(bare minimum). As opposed to losing ALOt of output when i had the H701 and PCM levels lowered , yet still have hiss. This is insane buy. Ikesound has already altered their prices, you guys should hustle and get your hands on one ASAP.

I cannot begin to tell you how my smile streches from ear to ear as I type. My last year had been a nightmare trying digital units-whether it be alt whine or hiss.

I have not began to tune. I'll be permanently installing the unit today. You guys will be VERY content.
