PPI DCX-730 Digital processor

So much for the analog dreams...

So here i find myself with the perfect digital processor for my car, which cost less (more like a small fraction)than every other processor I've tried to date (Alto drive30/sub16, Alpine PXA-H701, RF360.2's). And what a gem it turned out to be.

PPI DCX-730

Glovey mounted on a piece of vinyl wrapped mdf.

Theres slack on the cord behind the opening to pull it out to the drivers seat for up close tuning if necessary.

Temporarily mounted brain in between my SE's in a perfect nook in the skihole floor area...

Those of you that junped o the GD or get your hands on one will be very pleased. No on/off pops, no hiss/noise floor, no alternator whine- a winner.

Absolutely the deal of the year. Im Still getting emails/PMs/phone calls bout this thing. Surprised noone bought one to throw in the closet for a few weeks, then sell for an easy double the money - 110% sure that it would.

I’m just so thankful you offered this to everyone as quickly as you did, a processor like this was such a far-fetched fantasy for me. Something I always wanted but nothing I could afford until you made them available. My dreams of going active are coming true!

Manny very nice job of mounting them in the glove box, the blue screen looks very clean!

Thanks again Don!

Good lord I love ‘em!

Now I need to drive the car more, still giving them time to break in. Since I got back from Jersey the cars been sleeping in the garage, wife’s been driving me around.

We definitely need to talk about some midrange speakers!

Lol, I got to witness the excitement over the weekend, watching a grown man skip around saying, “I finally done!” “I’m finally done!”

don't worry...don will find something else for him to get.

Don's exact words as I walked out of his shop yesterday "so after this you just need to work on your front stage and you'll be done"

Don, Give me your platinums for a siiiick price.

Me thinks what you consider a sick price and what I do will vary quite substantially.

Most likely, but theres quite a long line, that why I offered to the Org first. Some people took em, others passed. Its a discontinued Item and PPI/DEI no longer has them nor will have them.

so anyway, if I can interrupt the drama...

I got back from Philly this weekend, go out to my front porch today after I got up ~1:30, to see my new PPI DCX-730 sitting there, waiting to be opened! gonna go install this biotch after I take the g/f to work...

oh yeah, where did everyone put the display at? I wanted to put it under the HU but it doesn't look as thought it will fit w/o modding my dash, which I may have to do cause that's where I want it. just curious as to what everyone else did with theirs.

p.s., thanks to Pearl96Max for the awsome deal!!!

unless I throw it in the center console, but then you have to open the armrest thing to change the settings. oh well, who knows. I have the rest of the day to figure it out. If I get it all in I'll post pics, may not have time to tune tonight.

Compromises...

I had wanted mine closer to me, no room in the dash- best place was my cup holder /door area in the center console. BUT, i need my cupholders everyday and this type of device is not for tuning everyday in my case. Theres plenty of place elsewhere to put my insurance card/registration than to have the glovey filled with what in turn I decide is mostly collected garbage/junk anyways.

you're right, this is not something I will be using to tune with every day anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter, I still haven't decided though...

I did get it hook up w/o issue though, but there are so many little things to tune and play with, that there is no way I could have gotten it done tonight. I got it sounding decent, could turn my gains far from before, only minor hiss but again, I am not thru messin around with it yet and NO ENGINE OR ALTY NOISE finally, I have been plagued with this since I put in my component amp.

some questions from the lamen though:
what is the difference between the filters(link/butt)
what does the Q value change (factory preset to 1.00)
what does the Low Ceiling/High Ceiling/Peaking thing do
what does the OrderLP/OrderHP setting change?

please no flamage for not knowing this stuff, I definatley not a n00b when it comes to car audio when the talk turns digital/high end tuning then that is a completly different story. I just want to get the most out of the new toy I just bought.
