To Trade, or NOT to trade??

Well....

Just got the 07 Maxima....3 months ago. WAS at first waiting for the 07 G35...

They jsut dropped the pricing.....about 1g over the Max base MSRP......

I'm thinking....maybe trying to trade up....

I got VPP for the Max, so go it less then the invoice which was 35415.

How much you think they will take the Max for?

Was thinking of going to see the G35, and if it is roomy enough.....i justm ight bite!

What you guys think? Worth it?

Atmost.....would fork 3gs to get it including the max....

Shall see...

the G35 is a 90 billion times better car than the max, but from a financial standpoint that would be a stupid move...I wouldn't do it

What do you have on your Max to have an invoice price more than $35k?

Sorry not invoice....List price

Has everything except Elite and VDC(??)

Nav, sunroof....

I mean i'd be willing the shell out 3gs to get it....IF after i test drive, i feel the diff is worth it.... I mean...50+ horses....+ the other perks....can't b beat.

My only prob with it, was the 06 felt tight to me. Will see how the 07 is.

Although it was listed at that, got it for a lot less, which would help the blow. I'd just make up the diff (up to 3g) and add it to the loan, spread it out over my 6yr loan.

How much you think they'd try to get for the max?

How many miles do you have on the max? I doubt that you will be able to find a good deal on an 07 g35 so soon after release. Keep us informed on your decision.

6300...

Doubt i'd get a GOOD deal, i'd jsut like a FAIR trade in value really. I'm sure the difference in the listings of my Max and the G won't be that off...1g more prb for the G.

I just feel i'mma gonna get screwed over in their trade-in values.....

Will keep u guys postedl

I went to an Infiniti dealer, just to toss around some numbers. I had 8g miles on my '05 and it was mid '06'. I have the '05' SL with DPP. (just about every feature you could want, minus Nav). They offered $21,000. What a smack in the face! I spent close to $30g's for my girl.

I decided not only did I not want to be raped, but that the max was ultimately mine.
I think, had I traded it, I would have been ok with the G, but I LOVE the max. The room is unbeatable!

So yes, I think they will try and take you to the cleaners. What dealership doesn't? Crooks.....

By the way, KBB, Edmunds and Nada, booked my car at $27g's at the time.........

Don't do it. Your credit will be upside down. Meaning you owe more than the cars worth. Stick with the 07 max a lil while more untill the bugs in the 07 g35 is fix. I really wanted a g35 but i would wait out a lil longer especially if the max is brand new. Just drive it for now. Just my 2 cents.

Trade-in to a dealer will be at least 18%- 20% less than what you paid. That does not include the sales tax you paid when you bought your Max, which I believe is 5% is MD. In total, you're looking at about a 25% hit, or $8,750 to trade in your car. Unless you put $9,000 or more down on your Max, like koyki wrote, the pay-off on your loan may also be more than the value of the car. That means you would have to cough up even more money to satisfy the bank. Generally speaking, trading in a new car is very expensive. On the bright side however, at least your Max is awesome.

is the max fully paid for???

if not, prepare to get raped and ***** Slapped... They always promise a good deal and to work with you. Not untill they run the finance check and try to confuse you with a bunch of numbers. You will realize that its not worth it. Just modify your Max untill you are happy.

No matter what you will get F'ed big time. I paid 25k on a 33k Max 6 months ago and I would just break even if I got out now.

Some good news some bad news, given that the car is fairly new and your the first owner all a plus, but your major plus is coming from the fact that you live in The washington DC metro area. The max is a very popular car in this area and tends to sell privatly over kbb trade in value. Kbb has a private selling price which is pretty accurate but to to answer you question the dealer, they will spread you like homo and ride you harder than your max

So best shot is to sell it privatly, i think you could get about 24-25k at the moment, yea it sucks but thats why i quickly learned lease is the way to go, given my love of new cars every couple of years.

hope this helps

I agree, sell it privately to get the most $$$ out of it, even though its more hastle on your part. But I also agree with other members, wait it out, enjoy your maxi for a year or two and get the 2008/09 G35...most of the bugs (if any) for the new gen G35 will probably be solved...just my 2 cents

Not worth it !!!

We went to the dealer with my brother to trade in his max for Z350. His max is fully loaded 05SE and was not even a year with like 8700 miles on it, everything you can possibly have. When we heard the numbers I was like WTF, he decided to keep it untill my pops take if off his hands when the G35 couple comes out. Man they will rape you without a lube, ouch that's gonna hurt.
