Ok I put my short throw in but im not sure where it went wrong. I can not put my shfter boot sstrim back on because i can go into 1,3,or 5 becasue it strikes the the trim and will nock it outof the console to get it to go into gear. look at the pic what did I do wrong or is it the shfter? This is in 1st gear look how close it is!

Well there's your problem...you bought it from fleabay. I've read tons of posts with it hitting the trim in 1,3,5 gears. After reading that i just went and bought the B&M and never looked back. The best shifter you can get.
Like Jsutter said your only option is to bend it. No other option. That what you get when you buy a ebay one. Think these companies put the time and effort into making these when they sell for 20-30 bucks a piece.
Should have just gone B&M. It the best one out there. Perfect fit and lower then stock.

B&M is not the best.... I have used and installed them and they are not worth the price.

but I love my B&M.......
ok well $75 for a genuine B&M is good. But there are very good copies available for less than that. I just was not impressed with the fitment on the B&M I installed in an Altima. I installed a Topspeed copy in a G20 with the same issues, just at a much lower price. Also the B&M Maxima I drove was notchy as hell. My Pacesetter is not notchy, has never hit the trim, and has no fittment issues.
I agree Jstutter the b&m alone is very notchy. But once you get larrio's polyurethane shifter bushing all of that pretty much goes away. The only draw back of the bushing is the shifter becomes very stiff and it's almost like working out when switching gears....but you get used to that lol.
I've heard that SMC is the best one, but they are not being made anymore. Too Bad. Stillen is way to expensive. CE has a decent price on one 99 bux.
How did you get a brand new b&m for 75 bux?
I'd like to know so that I can get that deal also.
And think, I almost purchased that fleabay unit.... Boy, am I glad I waited.
I can't believe companies can still get away with selling garbage like that.

no doubt. I'm gonna have to cruize the classifieds like a madman to find something even close to that price.
good luck to me.
I wonder... if that poly shifter bushing gets really hard when it's cold. I live way north of the border and usually have temp that are below freezing. My stock unit is sometime hard to shift when it's cold out, I wonder how the b&m would compare.
Goliekeg, please check your pm's
Jsutter, how does the ce unit compare to the b&m one other than the adjustablilty of it?
thanks

Idk about the cold shifts with the bushing because it hasn't gotten to below 0 in new york yet, but it's pretty cold in the morning when i go to work and my car shifts perfectly fine and "smooth". I also have amsoil gear oil so that might help. I personally think i have the best set-up on my car, i've driven alot of maxima's and it took me awhile to find my perfect set-up which is very precise and strong.
Well Larrio is an org member, you can get the bushing on the GD section. If i'm not mistaken it was somewhere around 45 bucks shipped. I'll go find the link for you.
Edit: here's the link for the bushing. It's a little more cause apparently not everyone has respect and returns there core's. http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=467839 but if you do return it you get some money back.
