Need tires - any comments on Kumho

I need new tires stock size for Wife's 2002 SE with stock rims. Any comments on Kumho ecsta asx or another recommendation. Priority is rain and light snow driving. Any advise is appreciated

I have the ASX and love them... They are wonderful in the rain and sun, but I only have limited snow experience ~2" and they worked pretty well.

The ASX are fine if you're not pushing the car.

Kumho ASX

Thanks for help, purchased tires from Tire Rack, can't beat price. Tires are great for the money. Will know better after first snow.

They grip just as well in dry weather if not better than my last two sets of tires which were Kumho KH-11's and 712's and they grip an incredible amount better in the snow.

In snow pushing any tire would be not so smart, but when it has been dry I have pushed these plenty without trouble...

I got my ASX's from Americas Tire for $308.39 installed so the price/performance ratio is incredibly hard to beat.

Kumho ecsta

I purchased the ecsta and they were great for the first 10K miles, but now that I have about 16K on them, they lost the grip and slide in even light rain. I must say I was disappointed that a tread wear rating over 400 only lasted 16K miles under normal driving conditions. At 16K they are just about to the tread wear mark on the tire. I have to say the tire was good for the first 10K, but after that is marginal and degrades quickly.

Which Ecsta do you have? ASX or AST?

my 712 lasted less than 1 year, 22k miles, till 1 of them started to cord. They got louder as they wore, and slid quite easily in the dry.

So far, my SPT are wearing great, and got stickier after breaking them in.
