Ultimat axxis brak pads

I've had them installed, with new rotors for about 5,000 miles now.

It's driving me crazy, it wont stop squeeking. when i make hard stops, i hear no noise. but when i lightly brake, those brakes sound like pigs. According to my mechanis the calipers are fine. what could i do to stop the noise?

dont worry about it...ultimates are naturally squeaky....I had them for awhile...and couldn't stand the squeal....so I swapped them out for regulars

have you guys tried any of that anti-squeal stuff. I have the ultimates and they squeal as well but I do love how well they stop. I figured Id try this application eventually to get rid of the noise

they are very good stopping brakes, but this noise is making me think of sound deadening the car. it's ridiculous

Axxis Ultimapeiceofcraps. You will not be happy with those. Not only do they squeak A LOT, but rotor wear is horrendous and so is the brake dust. They were absolutely the worst pads I ever put on my car for daily driving.

Oh yeah rotor wear was pretty bad for mine too...when I switched my ultimates to the deluxe, I went to pepboys for rotor resurfacing...I swear I only put like 5k miles on the rotors (brembo blanks) and the guy told me "whoa, this will be your last resurface...these rotors barely have any thickness left"

So 5k miles and I only get to resurface them once...you be the judge

My axxis ultimates don't make a sound... I don't like them because I'm used to HPS (these are what was on the car when I bought it, not my choice) but mine are silent.

this is what happens when you put racing brake pads on a street driven car. You guys are complaining about all this stuff but there is nothing to complain about. Read what the pads are meant for...

I've used Satisfied Pro Ceramic, EBC Greenstuff, Axxis Ultimate, Hawk HPS, and then Hawk HPS again (in that order). Of those, the Ultimates made the most dust and noise by far, and didn't even last 15k miles with my hard driving. They also had the best bite and feel in the normal temperature range for street driving.

The Hawk HPSs have the worst cold bite and feel of the bunch, but they've been quieter, less dusty, and longer lasting than the Ultimates. Performance and feel are good in the normal temp range for street driving, but they absolutely destroy everything else in this category when you actually get them up to temp (which can be pretty hard to do on the street).

On the topic of rotor life: FWIW, my Brembo slotted rotors have been through one set of Ultimates and one set of HPSs so far, and won't need to come off until I'm through my current set of HPSs. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but considering how harsh those pads are on rotors (compared to, say, OEM), I think that's pretty good...

My Ultimates didn't squeek. The noise that their website refers to is more of a groan, as the friction is higher and the pad bites the rotors. Redo your pads, and bed them again.

I'll never go back to Ultimates... IMO of pads I've had:
Hawk HP+ > Porterfield R4-S > Ultimates

Nealoc187: would you ever try the HP+ over the HPS?

I probably wouldn't put HP+ on a car on the street again. They are a little hairy before they get warmed up. I've owned a few sets of them and you had to get on the brakes hard a few times when you first drive the car to get them up to temp. If you happen to be pulling out of your neighborhood and haven't warmed them up yet and someone stops short infront of you, you might end up in their rear bumper if you're not on top of things.
