how much for 1997 SE with 170,000

Hi,
Need some quick advice and you guys are experts. Please help!
I have a 1997 SE 5 speed with 170,000.
It has a clutch that only goes half way to the floor. Then it stops like it hit a brick wall. It happened all the sudden.
Transmission must be taken out to get a look and possibly replace clutch.
about $1,500 worst case due to the labor involved.
I only want 200,000 out of the thing but it may be better to sell it for parts which I have no idea how to go about.

History:
First tranny went out at 127,000.
New clutch was put in at that time.
New master cylinder went out (replaced 6 weeks ago).
that's it.

I has been a good car but I think it is time for a replacement.
Any thoughts?
It is sitting at the repair shop right now. If I decide it is a no go what is the best way to get the most money out of it. Functioning it is worth $3000 maybe right? In a non functional state it is worth what?
What is the best way to maxmize this maxima?

If the clutch worked I'd say 4000.

just trade it in at the Honda dealership. They are more reliable and faster anyways.

Dang, I spent 7000 for my 97 with 95k 1.5 years ago, but that is/was the average price for them around here through dealers and private parties. The car was in near perfect mechanical condition. Did I get hosed or does that sound about right? Either way I don't care I love my max way to much.

I also say fix it. What are you going to do buy another car that might have more problems then the max did in the first place. I think $1500 is a little high for a clutch replacement maybe for a tranny rebuild. I say maybe $400-600.

Drive it till it dies man. There is still alot of life left in that car. I get moments where dang I want to get that new g35 and after driving the maxima I realize the maxima is all I need right now. There is just something about the maxima that I really admire. The 4th gen is quite old but I gotta say i always walk away looking at it after I parked my car walking to campus.

if your max is black on black (good paint & interior) I might just have to come up with 3k for you

I paid 5300 ( all included ) for my 97 GLE at 94K about a month ago. The only thing it really needs atm is a new axle boot on the passenger side but im going to end up replacing the whole passenger side axle neways. Other than that , its fully loaded leather , seat warmers , bose ( hate it btw ) and blah blah blah.
