SSautochrome 3.5 Headers

Im shopping for an exhaust right now, the more I wait the more options i keep thinking of and i cant decide what I want.

But I found these headers for $279??

almost seems to cheap?

Thats 1/4 of the price of cattmans, and they look decent, same desigh as the hotshots i think...

Heres the link http://www.ssautochrome.com/level.itml/icOid/1433
(scroll down)

any one have these??

I had stone racing headers and y pipe on my 4th gen and they made a difference at the track but I dont know the exact hp gain they gave me. Also ALOT of people talk sh it about stone racing.

as far as the headers that such as ss auto and stone racing, they are okay. If you want to put them on a 4th gen, the gains are similar to a y pipe. If you want to put them on a 5.5 gen and up, I wouldnt waste my money cuz the gains were minimal at best. Correct me if I'm wrong anybody.

what do you mean by minimal? all the 3.5s seem to get better overall power gain out of headers than y pipe

meh the only ones worth buying are the altima headers, other than that the rest have ****ty collectors on them which wont be worth the cash from what i understand

The headers HAVE to be properly designed. Most of the gains a Maxima sees from headers are from long tube, equal length primary tubes and good collectors. Just look at HotShot and Cattman Headers, then look at the autochrome headers... They are not worth the PIA it is to install headers.

Also with SS headers, they HAVE to fit perfect. If they have to be forced at all, they have a huge chance of cracking. This is why Brian from Cattman makes sure they fit perfect (especially the third gen headers).

SSAC has a horrible reputation. They stole Hotshot's SR20 gen 6 header design and pretty much put HS out of business. Making a copy for much cheaper out of the country and steeling good business. Some things are OK, but there have been numerous issues with cracking and poor fitment.

Their maxima setup is basically a copy of the stock 4th gen manifolds and any aftermarkey y pipe. It wont make any noticeable power over a y pipe on a 4th gen. Their 5th gen set up is the same thing, which will get rid of the precats, but wont be anywhere near as nice as HS or Cattman's.

At this point, since I heard hotshot is no more. Your only quality choice is cattman.

Cattmans are made for Maximas, and give quite a bit of power.

I made 233 w/ only Cattman headers and a POP chrager intake

yup, HS is out of business. Sad, they were a pioneer for the SER guys, making 6 different designs
