OK! hey guys, I finally talked to them again today about what the dileo was on the Supercharger kit for the 3.5's! THey are gonna procede with this. They also need 10 peeps and they will have a discount for the kits for the 10 peeps!!! They will need a 50 % Deposit and they said its gonna be around 3k or so for the whole kit. Completed. Done.

Yea, I'll wait until it's fabricated, installed and running before I plunk down $3000 plus install costs. Sounds good, but not willing to be a guinea pig for that kind of money.

 

I totally understand about the guinea pig thing.. But i think they make sure its running fine before they sell to the rest of the 10 and the whoever after that wants to buy..

Like i said, he actually has some volunteers, but i offered my car to them. HUGE RISK! omg..hahaha.. i'm sure its worth it..

 

if you haven't already you might want to post in the local dc fourm, you might get a better response from that crew seeing how you are local. I know that if i had a 5.5gen I would seriously consider it...especially with Brian getting on board and if that's the price with installation.

Getting 10 people that are up to dropping $3000 on tneir cars is easier said than done. I'm sure that far more than 10 people will offer to be on the list, but nine times out of ten, people don't deliver.

I'm kinda interested, if I read it right is $1,500 now and another $1,500 or so when the kit is done.

Might be a couple of weeks until I can come up with 50% deposit. Actually I was saving to purchase Cattmans Headers. But like TXT-1 said, I would like to wait and see until its fabricated, and how people likes it.

This is something I will need to think about.

Also what kind of part is Brian playing on this project?

Well i dont know where you guys are at, but I"M in near dc. the RIPP MODS is in New Jersey! so i actually have to drive my car up there and leave it for about 2 to 4 months for them to use my car as the guinea pig.

I have NO problem of people being skeptical. its perfectly normal. i mean this is a company that is doing well enough to get Brian Cattman's Interest, and has been doing this since 1998. Patented with Vortech.

The only way that people will believe, is to actually show. So i'm not about talk. I'm about show. So thats why i told them that i volunteer my MidN1te. Bold, But i have faith. Its gonna take a couple of months folks so just hang in there.

Ok.. Here's the secret that i didnt mention before. Since iv'e heard of this company WAY before i even got my maxima, i knew about there rep. My buddy is getting the supercharger kit from them for his 2001 eclipse.. Since i used to have an AWD Turbo eclipse, he wanted something too. Dougs dyno was a choice until i met this company. There was a discrepency with Dougs dyno that i've heard, so......... well lets just put it this way. I trust RippMods.

The secret is, for their superchargers, they require.... well dont require.. but REALLY recommend a header and exhaust set up, they even quoted that if you dont have one, they wont take responsibility. So its sooooo recommended to the point that you would need to get the headers. Knowing that and keeping that in my mind, i thought to myself. hm..... one of the biggest names for headers and exhaust for the maxima's is CATTMAN. So....I called Mr Cattman himself and spoke to him about this company.. HE himself has a 2002 maxima 6 speed and has ALSO been looking for a company to do FI. He was actually thinking of making one kit but rather not and didnt make one after all. So spoke to him, told him alll about the company and the fact that HE knew that vortech is a very good company that wont just give their products to companys that wont do well, he said well obviously if they've been with rippmods for years, they must be doing Something right.. And that was straight from Mr Cattman himself.

So i told Ripp mods ALL about Cattman and how he plays a Major key role for the maxima's, and they NEED a good header and exhaust design,

WHY NOT PUT THE 2 TOGETHER AND HAVE A GREAT COMBINATION!!!!!!! So thats what i did. I got Mr Cattman interested in Rippmods, and Ripp mods interested into Cattman.. NOT ONLY do they both provide great products, but as a partnering company, they can benifet majorly from each other business wise. Ripp mods moves to the Altimas, then to other products, and cattman looks at the other designs that are made for the eclipses and other company cars and next thing you know, Cattman would be making stuff for mitsubishi, dodge, other cars that the rippmods make kits for. Its a win, win situation.

WHEW! so having that said, thats what i've been doing for this whole week. and its working.

The HP for the g35 and 350z were around 412 whp. So with pretty much the same engine, thats what your gonna kinda expect. traction is gonna be an issue, so i'm trying to get LEVEL 10 into this because, they can put together an auto or manual tranny with the phantom grip and convert from an open diff to a LSD.. not exactly a quaife. but its the only option for the auto. then a good torque converter with the Valve body upgrade, they said your car will shift as fast if not faster than a manual. i'll leave that a debate for you guys.

What else, OH.. since i caught some of you guys's attention, those that live near there and want to check them out, its cool. But like i said.. patience is a virtue, and they are busy now and i'm gonna hear back from them after sept 5th. So please guys, well.. you can try to call them, but they are gonna be on vacation until then.

I smell an impostor looking for newbies to pay for his SC. Rippmods already has a supercharger for the G35 for $5500. Why would they sell a MAX version for $3K? A funny smell.

Another problem: the Max sideway VQ does not have much room for the plate holding the new pulleys and blower. Hood clearance? Check the many G35 pictures. A Turbonetics or GReddy would be a much easier fit and will give you 450WHP@8.5psi. 40 WHP more for about the same price.

No cash up front please. Build it and they will come.

 

I dont think anyone has "jumped" yet. Still a wait and see thing.

 

1. Not once has he requested money from anybody. He informed us what a kit would cost and what a deposit would be.

2. Cattman is in. He may be nobody to you, but to us Max owners he sheds a lil bit more credibility.

3. He has provided links and contact #'s for the company involved

4. Becaue we all know the G35 is just a Maxima in RWD so all the components must be identically the same. So lets just include the same eveything for the 3.5 Quests, Muranos, and Altimas......

Why would you need aftermarket exhaust to the fact that they wont take responsiblity? What are they 'taking responsibility' for? Does it come w/ a warranty or what's the point?
