i installed it last week and i've been noticing that on all starts, the intake hisses a lot and sounds like it is sucking tons and tons of air in (this is when i am not moving)...you can hear it more on cold starts in the morning (they still aren't cold...over 100 degrees here)...but the noise seems to mostly go away after a few minutes...you can hear it slightly though...i've opened my engine and it sounds more like it is coming from the filter area rather than any of the other parts of the intake...also when i am at about 1/4 throttle i can hear the intake sucking sound, but at all other throttle points it sounds deep and throaty, but at 1/4 throttle it sounds kinda like a turbo whine

let me know if my startup thing is normal and if it isn't, what did i do wrong?

At start-up the car does idle at a higher rpm so that it warms up faster. So, it does make sense that it will be sucking in more air. When the car is warmed up at idle, do you hear it suck in as much air?

no, after it is warmed up it doesn't suck in as much air but it still sounds kinda weird...i've never heard anyones intake do that before

It's all good...

That sounds like mine, but that means that everything is ok. Like said before when the car is warming in the morning, it idles higher but not high enough to make the engine noise go above and beyond the intake. Don't worry!

That is the exact sound I get too with my Stillen High Flow. Up to around 3500rpm I hear the hissing after that it is a deep sound in conjuction with my Y.
