Interior Swap --- Cloth to Leather --- Can it be done?

Currently I have an ’00 Maxima with leather. I am considering buying an ’02 that I have found at a really good price. However, the ’02 doesn’t have leather. The interior color is the same.

Is it possible that I could swap out the interiors? Can it be done? How much work is involved?

It can be done. Cost will depend on who you get the leather from and whether you do it yourself. I hear it's not the funnest of jobs, but is very doable. Maybe $1000 if you find aftermarket leather?

I've been toying with the idea of swapping out leather seats from an I35 because the leather in the Max always look cheap, and the I35 comes with the adjustable rear headrests. What I'm talking about is a full seat-swap, I'm not sure if that's what you're talking about or just a reapholstering?

I was thinking about swaping the front seats. What do you do about the rear bench... does that unbolt for replacement? What do you do with leather door panels? Can those be swapped?

If you are talking about buying the car then you should ask the dealer to see if you can't just swap it out all together before you buy it. Just a thought and I'm sure the dealer would have no problem at all considering he's still making his sale.

there was a dealer that had full set of blond leather seat cover for the 00-03 maxi's SEs and GXEs. they were made for the maxima's, 60/40 rear bench w/ leather cover for the arm rest, door panels/inserts and the stiching matched perfectly. he was asking about $400 US. dont see his posting anylonger on ebay.
