Just wondering what laptop based tuning is available for VQ engines. I have a side tuning tuning business for GM GEN 3 and 4 engines ls1/ls2 based engines. This is the software I use and it's a tuners dream come true. http://www.hptuners.com/index.php
I don't care for hand held programmer or too crazy about sending my pcm to get flashed. I would much rather do my own tuning. So what is available for guys like me who prefer to do their own tuning?

 

I use Autoenginuity with the Nissan enhancements so I can read most sensors. If you only get the generic, you can read rpm, load, trims, and O2 sensors.

There is Cipher by UpRev.

 

Thanks, this is a scanner you are talking about. I am looking for an editor. Something that will enable me to change shift ponts, shift properties, delete engine/tranny TM, raises enigne rev limiter, advance/retard ignition spart advance, change A/F and so forth.

 

i think the closest thing we have kinda like that is the greddy emanage. it'll do a/f, timing, and a ton of other stuff, there are threads about it in the all motor forum. it doesn't mess with the tranny though i dont think

there are the apex'i safc and v-afc but they only control a/f for the most part
the v-afc will control vi opening too

but look through the all motor forum for more on all of them

 

Sounds like he's looking for a ROM editor to mess with the ECU/TCU. None of those devices will do that.

 

Yes, I am looking for something that will enable me to read the stock file, edit this file save it as a different file name, flash the pcm with this new file, connect my 02 wideband, go out for some logging, and flash the pcm again after making some more changes, do some more logging and continue making changes/flashing.

The only thing I can think of is generic ROM editors like the ones found on phatg20.

 

I have a feeling this animal does not exist.

 

Talk to the ls1 company you use now, and make one for us. It would sell like no other. 350zs g35s altimas maximas... Maybe I will be rich and make one for us..
