So I found a VE Auto on craiglist for 1k obo. He says this about it...

White '93 Maxima, sunroof, automatic, cruise, power everything
213K miles, needs some exhaust work, minor mechanical, runs strong
NADA low retail is $1875 - good, dependable transportation (will probably run another 100k!)

So my question is if I buy this as a parts car can I put a VE Auto in a VG? My VG tranny slips like crazy. I know what all of you guys are gonna say... FIX THE VE and SELL VG but my vg is like mint. has half the miles of the VE too. So any suggestions?

Swapping the motor wire harness is pobubly the hardest. You really need the gut the intire front end.

Can be done. I wouldn't do it.

 

The VE auto will not work on the vg engine because the ve auto starter will not line up to the vg flexplate..

Also,you will not be able to swap flexplates,the vg crank has 6 bolts holes that attatch the plate,the ve crank has 8 bolts holes...

Yeah,$500 for a running maxima sounds pretty fair,i would offer $400 though.
