Its on. I am going to get it checked today but any ideas what's wrong?

i change my oil every 2700-3000 miles...

the rpm when cruising sometimes just goes up to 3500 even when i'm not really pressing the gas that much. It does it by itself...

I also hear a whistling sound followed by something grinding... the whistle happens occasionally when i'm pressing the gas, then if that happens it willb e followed by the grinding noise for 2 secs...

With these my suspension is starting to breakdown too...

I don't know man... if it costs alot... I might give her up... she's 12 years old and has served me well...

Why is it so hard to check the codes yourself? Oh that's right, it's not...take the cover off, turn the screw back and forth, look at the blinky light, count the flashes and look it up. ffs.
