Ok M3 Lip Installation

I bought an M3 lip on eBay because I didn't know of any other place to buy one at. I put it on my car. I know it is uneven and stuff, but it doesn't looks right. Is this how I'm supposed to put it on?

Please help...

Looks good to me too. Just put it on the edge of the trunk. You may want to line it up how you want it, and use masking tape to mark where you want the ends to be. Then, just peel the tape and put it on.

not to ruin the party but it looks a little corny to me. especially from that side angle. could be because it doesnt flow into the quarter panels. IDK.

I like it but think it would look much better if you could find a way to get it to flow onto the rear quarters and then taper of kind of like the m3 trunk lips offered for the 240

I don't know if I really like it. Up close it does look kinda corny. We'll see tomorrow in the day light.

Black Maxima, may I recommend something?..

I think a rear window spoiler may go real well with a cleaned off trunk (such as yours).

i agree, it looks weird. it should taper down more at the edges of the trunk

bad pic from too far away, but still:

I think it looks good. I never got around to order one, and now i think i will.

Can you give me a link to that exact one? Looks like they're not all the same, and i like how yours goes out more.

Okay, I just put it on again. It looks like crap. It doesn't flow with the car. I think I just bought some junk one on eBay. Seems like it's not long enough so it makes the ends stick up, unlike "kbmaxima".

I will stay spoiler-less for now.

I bought the ABS plastic one that you posted, it would not stay down on the corners for me...it was too stiff. So I looked around more and found an ebay seller that sells the same lip but it is made of urethane, its very flexible and really molds better to the car. I have the urethane one on my car now and I am very happy with it. The guy I got it from on ebay sells them for ~90 bucks but he also paints them before he ships them.

Oh, I guess I picked the wrong seller. I want to see close up pictures first. The one I have gets real wiggly when you put it by the fireplace. Outside it gets really stiff...

I have mixed feelings about the look. I still like the OEM spoiler that Max's have better.

i believe it was the same seller, but at the time, (1.5 years ago) there weren't any listings specifically for maximas. so i just asked which one is 51". supposedly the mb c-class trunk is the same length so I got that.

Yea, I think so. But it cost like 60 bucks. I want to make sure it's the best one though.

personally, i think your car looks clean and sexy spoilerless. especially with the killer drop. i have the type 2 spoiler on my max. personally the stock one doesn't due it for me either but its so clean with the car. thats why i went with the type2 but just a bit higher to go with the big rear window. i think the stock design are one of the few that actually sets the car off a bit. m3 lip really belong on 2 doors coupe or hatchbacks.
