TC or SC in 3.5L

I am planning on doing a 3.5L engine swap in my 95 max, do you guys recommend turbo or Supercharger with that?

S/C PM if you want information on a V1 Supercharger Starter Kit

Superchargers are really reliable if you do it right with a Steel V1 Plate.

I think S/C will be more reliable and there is much more information on it. Matty is notorious on this forum for helping people get started S/C'ing their cars.

If you want to be a daredevil ... get some turbo. Only problem is turbo has that nasty thing they call heat (or more of it i should say).

I'll vote supercharger unless you're planning on breaking some records. Take a look at a certain recent dyno thread in that section of the forum to get an idea of what a supercharged 3.5L is capable of.

But, if you're shooting for 10's in the 1/4 mile or 500+ whp, then by all means, go turbo.

ARP rod bolts are necessary for entry-level boost?

wouldnt hurt. espeically if there are plans later for heavy boost. arp head and main bolts. Make the motor more suitable for the stress

Revs kill rod bolts. If he plans on revving beyond the stock redline under boost then i'd suggest them. Otherwise, they're not necessary.

oopp ...I was thinking of the main bolts.

still if the arp rod bolts are made from chromemoly steel, would take some serious revs to kill that.

Unless the bottom end is built you won't be making enough power to overcome the OEM main bolts so that's a moot point.

Indeed, but to me the rods and rod bolts are equally suspect under boost. With that said. both are good to ~450 WHP at the stock redline with a GREAT tune.

if u know what ur doin then turbo, but I vote SC because its more reliable and doen't need as much maintanence as the turbo, plus u can buy it from Matty and earn a buyer's feedback... hehe

i don't have any personal experience with either, but the general concensus is that if it's your daily driver, SC is more ideal. but if you want a trackstar, you'll get more power from a TC
