Replacing Fuel Injectors/Knock sensor questions

So I spent a long time searching through the threads looking for answers to these questions so sorry if this is a repeat

First off I have a fuel injector going bad which is not suprising with a car with over 200k on it, plus god knows when the owner before me put new ones in, so I will be replacing all of them. I have little experience with doing this, and I was wondering if you guys had any tips on how to replace them. Also any suggestions on what type of injectors to get would be great.

I'm also going to be replacing a bad knock sensor, and just out of plain curiosity I was wondering what a bad knock sensor does to the car. I know what it does and that it times the engine down if it senses a knock, but I was wondering if a "bad" knock sensor did the same thing. Just a youngin looking to gain some knowledge.

Thanks everyone!

did you really search because the ks question is very common question.....anyway, I would say since you're replacing all the injectors, just take of the manifold and rail to replace them. While you're there, take off the LIM and do the ks. Will be much easier on the hands and shouldnt take too much time. A bad ks causes a loss of power and bad gas mileage.

You're probobly gonna need an impact driver to get the phillips screws off the injectors. I wouldn't try to just unscrew them with a normal screwdriver. Impact driver is about $25 at sears and worth every penny.

Well I had become confused when reading through all of the knock sensor posts to wether it was just if the knock sensor sensed a knock that it did that or if a bad knock sensor did that too. Thanks for clearing that up for me and for the help, and crazy 97 thanks for the advice I shall go buy one of those here real soon.

If you are sure you have a bad injector then replace that injector. If the car runs good once the bad injector is replaced, leave the others alone.
Replacing working injectors will not benefit you in any way.

weight reduction...............i am sure they could all use a good cleaning though.....if u are still going all the injectors...KS will be cake.....as far as the KS retarding timing if its bad...yes it will......a dead KS puts the ECU in "limp" mode it retards timing and u get a power loss...ur car will feel alot healthier when replaced
