dek/non dek egr locations

i currently have a dek with an egr and a set of headers (hs)without an egr bung, i plan on welding one myself.

ill have a non dek vq30 out of a car to do test fits, but i was wondering if i make it fit on a non dek will it line up on my dek? i knwo they changed a few things around.

is the egr in the same location?

and can i use an egr tube from a non dek on a dek?

id love to have a dek to test fit on, but i dont so i have to work with what ive got. id liek to do this for the least amount of money if possible.

i guess another option would be to copy the egr tube design from the cattman headers since i know there was an option of having one.
if i could do that any idea where i can get info on exactly where to weld, and the shape/length of the egr tube.

thanks all!

would you consider blocking off the egr ? i just did a 00VI swap and we just blocked it off. all you would need to do is make a block off plate for the UIM (underneath and right behind the throttle body). seems like that would be quicker and easier. then again you may not want to do something like this.

i really dont think you can use a non dek egr guide tube, i will go outside and see if i still have some parts to take a look at.

the guide tube looks different, and it appears the de and the de-k bolt up a different.

I believe he's talking about the large tube that runs horizontally from the rear exhaust manifold to the EGR, not the guide tube from the EGR up to the UIM.
In answer to the original question, logic tells me that you shouldn't have a problem. I believe what you're asking is whether the dimensional relationship between the rear exhaust manifold EGR bung, the rear head and the EGR itself is the same on the 2000 Max as the 4th gen Max, and I believe it's the same. I presume that you'll still be using the EGR itself and the guide tube from it up to the UIM, that the only thing you'll be changing is the header itself, and what you're trying to do is position the EGR bung in the exact location so you can use everything else as it currently is on your 2000 Max.
