Sorry to hear that! Billcurtis has feedback of 1200+ items with 99.5 feedback per ebay. I had no problems with my transaction.

The knock sensor changes your ECU's fuel map to a "safe" setting. This in turn gives you cruddy throttle response and even cruddier gas mileage. It's not crucial but if you want a better running car, change it.

It only takes one time. If you read his feedback there are two negatives and one is mine. Hedid it also to another person at the same time.

I think he ships via the post office. If the the item is lost and doesn't get to you, all he can do is refund your money. I'll sit back and see how many of the people ordering now don't receive their sensor.

Only if you have BIG hands do you need to remove the IM to replace a knock sensor. I used an extension and 90 degree elbow with the correct socket to install mine. You just need to get your hands in there to get the old sensor out and the new one started.

Just got the knock sensor in today that I ordered earlier this week. Hopefully changing this will resolve the KS issues. Is there any wa to test the new one vs. old one with an ohm meter?

Here you go:

From FSM
Knock Sensor Diagnostic Procedure

1. Loosen and retighten engine ground screws (front of intake manifold)

2. Check input signal circuit - 1
Ignition OFF
Disconnect ECM harness and knock sensor sub-harness
Check continunity between terminal 1 of sub harness (connector on top, left pin) and ECM terminal 64
Continunity should exist
If OK check harness for short

3. Check input signal circuit - 2
Check resistance between terminal 1 and engine ground
Resistance appx. 500 - 620 K omh
If OK check harness for short

Inspect knock sensor
Check resistance between terminal 2 (left pin) and ground
Appx 500 - 620 K omh @ 77 degrees

Anyone know where I can get the KS for cheap. The seller appears to be selling no more KS's but I need to buy one for cheap. Let me know if anyone knows where to get a new OEM KS replacement. Thanks.

My "short" harness has two wires on the remote end and only one wire near the sensor. I was informed that the "second wire" provides a ground shield hence NOT terminated near the sensor. Thus the second terminal resistance to KS reads as an open circuit. Need to check resistance between the two terminals at the KS to insure that there is no internal short. No way to determine if KS is starting to fail other than using the KS scan code.

I don't want to use Paypal but would not mind using credit card to pay for KS, does any body know if the vendor take credit card without paypal?

Paypal add another level of delay if problems arise, note that paypal contract refers to credit card as another recourse for problem resolution. So why not elimated this delay?

hmm..that sucks that that vendor no longer has knock sensors available. He was great to buy from, got the KS in a few days. I replaced it a couple of weeks ago and the difference is very noticable. Better mileage, more power....the way it was BEFORE the KS $h!t the bed. I'm so glad that I didnt pay the stealership price for it.

The knock sensor has nothing to do with fuel trims.

What does his father dying have to do with his email address? Anyways it happened 6 weeks ago so I would think the seller is over it by now. Anyone w/ it I would greatly appreciate it.

The way I read it, it seems Robter Curtis = Bill Curtis is the one who died. His son just shipped out the final stuff. That's why there are no new auctions with that ID. I could be wrong though.

Ohhh. Jeez I think you are right. His son says that he shipped his items (his fathers i think). I completly misread. That sucks cause the cheapest ive seen them are 120 shipped on ebay.
