I got a 2000 SE last year...great car...got it fully loaded. Sterling Mist, automatic, Black Leather interior, cd player & changer, etc...there were no options left to get. I have always wanted to modify the engine...I was going to wait until the warranty was up before I did it...so i was wondering, If it is already around the 222 HP mark what will adding the Stillen system do to it(HP wise)? Will the new system affect the TCS? How much will it cost me? Is it necessary for me to change the exhaust? Anybody have any suggestions on what some other performance options are for the 5th generation? I would prefer to only add something that could easily be switched back if necessary. I had a 1999 Corvette Convertible and had to get rid of it due to needing a family car. So I sold it and bought myself the 2000 Maxima (glad I did) and a 1999 Isuzu Trooper(I love this truck to). Anyone know of any performance modifications for that particular SUV?

 

Any one ever notice any transmission problems with the automatic 5th gen? I dont run the car too hard at all...at least not like most of you guys I happen to put the car in Reverse out of my driveway(last night) and for some reason it did not go into gear...I had it happen once before when I went to put it in Drive? Has this ever happened to anyone else? It went into gear after I gave is some gas(switching back to park, neutral, and differ. gears didn't work), which i depressed the pedal slowly...but i would get that "thud" as it dropped into gear. Anyone else notice this?
