Plugs are showing lean

I pulled 3 plugs today and they are quite white. Gap is correct at .44
2001 Gle with 125,500 miles on it. Wondering if I should go ahead and replace the filter that is in the tank. Any opinions?

Your Mcgyver... You can fix it with a Turkey Baster and a tube of chapstick.

Hey, YOUR Mcgyver... It's up to you.

Now what are you going to blow up while your plan unfolds to perfection?

On topic...

If you have not changed your fuel filter it is a good idea to start there... I would also check the MAF and coils.

I also got a P0420 Cat below efficiency bank 1 1 hr ago as a matter of fact. Not sure if it has anything to do with it. Cleared it though.

If it is comming from one of your primary o2 sensors it WILL mess with your AFR, usually once your CEL comes on for them your car goes into default mode, and default mode is to run rich...

Well lets put it this way. I checked the plugs BEFORE the CEL came on. The light has never come on before. If I keep getting the light, Bank one is which O2 sensor? I believe there are two?

If you are Cali (I would bet on it) you have four o2 sensors... Two primary and two secondary. The two primary ones control fuel delivery and if your sensor is going out it will mess with AFR. Bank 1 I THINK is the rear bank.

Does not really matter where you live... Almost ALL 01's are Cali spec.
