Almost there, hoses and tubes left...92ve

Got a 92Ve here, for those of you that dont know my sad story, heres the long short of it. "Friend's" dad says oh just give me a month and I'll have it done. Rebuild the engine. No problem. So there goes 3500 bucks and off I go to f@ck myself. So its been 20 months my mechanic "friend" started tearing apart my car. I finally said lets go to court and low and behold my car started going back together. Anyways engine is in, wiring is done for the most part and we are left with all the nice rubber hoses everywhere on the right side of the bay. This guy is a tool, and cant remeber crap. Also the vacum tubing diagram on my hood isnt there, so I am a little out of luck. I need some major help. ANY pics or advice I can get of the hoses, every one of them, would be helpful. I sat at nissan for 2 hours today pouring over there books trying to get a diagram or something. Not even the mechanics at the dealership wanted to mess with it. I offered 50 bucks to come out and point to where these hoses go for 15 minutes, not one person was even interested. I am at a loss of what to do for this. Also the first person to tell me to sell my car, can get lost. I am so close and just want to be driving it again. Please HELP!!

Buy a FSM(or DL one), read the graphs, put the hoses on. If you are having trouble with this then you should take it to a mechanic.

Nissan FSM does have a diagram for hoses, but it does take little looking to find it. It's only like one page for the VG, but it saved me when installing my turbo. Go to www.PhatG20.com to download a FSM. Hope you don't have dial up though!

Well it's not a VG, because the throttle body on a VG is nowhere near the intake ports. That, and you can't see the intake tubes on a VG, it's just a big block thing that extends across each cylinder bank. On VE, the throttle body is diagonally mounted on the driver side, which is what that picture seems to show.

I realize this is not a freakin vg diagram either folks.. The op has a VE,so this is why i said "this is not a ve engine diagram"

I own both models of these cars,so i have real life diagrams to go by...

Well shame on them. I wonder how many people totally messed their cars up following incorrect-engine diagrams (Maxima or otherwise).

i meant to say "totally messed up their cars" but somehow my keyboard ignored those keystrokes. But it makes sense either way. Unfortunately I do go to autozone, and have had an OK experience there, buying minor things. If I get a more expensive car that will change.

These are easier to read than the illustrations in the FSM.

If you have a VE AT:

If you have a VE 5spd:

does VG have that difference between 5spd and auto vacuum layouts also? If so, what does that extra stuff to in the MT model, and why is it absent in the AT?

I don't think the vacuum diagrams are different for the VG AT and MT.

But for the VE AT and MT, they are different b/c the MT has the variable intake manifold power valve along with the VI solenoid and vacuum surge tank. So there is an extra vacuum fitting on the VE MT upper intake manifold.

Wow, I have to give for patience points. I can't believe you could stand waiting over a year for that douche to finish your motor. Although I myself just had to wait a little under 6 months for a wheel I ordered to get here...

Ok got the hose on and done, thanks Aaron and Green for the clarification and the diagrams.

Now the next problem, put the battery in and all the lights and fan works, windows, etc. However I believe the anti-theft light is staying on and flashing when I turn the key to the crank pos. I get nothing, no solenoid, no crank nothing. Also, I locked the car then unlocked it with the key. Tryed also with the trunk closing and unlocking with the key.
92Ve with no aftermarket alarms or anything.
Any suggestions other than the dealership?

Make sure the shifter is all the way in park. If it is, you can look into your inhibitor switch if you have an automatic. That won't allow the car to crank if the car is in gear. Or if it's broken, it won't allow the car to crank at all.

Just an idea. If you don't know how to test it, then you'll need to do some reading in the Factory Service Manual or bring the car to me or take it to a shop that knows what they are doing.

See I have the tools, the hardware, and software. I am just starting to get into the car scene though. I dont know how everything works or goes but I will tell you what, give me enough time and I will find out! Also alldata diagrams suck and are very grainy, maybe I should get a chiltons book instead?

No, just get a Factory Service Manual.

You can find them on eBay or download the pdf for free. But I can't post the link. Someone else can. But I am not allowed. Or you can PM me and I'll tell ya in private.

use your emergency shift button and try it in neutral. My car was tardtard a few times in the summer where it wouldn't start in park but would in neutral. I think that was a grand total of 3 times, but even so it (the shifter) still has to move to maybe be better aligned with the contacts on the inhibitor switch (no good reason, but sometimes dumb stuff just.. works)

Well I am leaning toward something not being hooked up right somewhere. I tried the shifting thing and also the door and truck, I am not sure what to do next but I think its about time to hall it in the the stealership. Don't suppose we have any hardcore Orgers' in the Omaha, Nebraska area? Need to find someone that knows what they are doing and I cant hall it to Tennessee or I would.

Keep trying man. They will rob you really really badly for cashola if you bring that car in there and have no idea what's wrong, they could tell you anything they wanted and charge you whatever and you'd pretty much have to take their word for it.

Can you get us some pics of various parts of the engine bay area, focusing on wiring/vacuum lines/just several shots of different area of the engine bay,the more the better..

Also,i would consider taking this guy to small claims court to recover some of your money,he was hired to do a job by you,and he failed miserably...This is not right, and HE should either cough up part of the money you paid him to do the job,or fix it properly like he said he was going to do...

So now its all together, and I even heard it "run", something else is wrong. It seems that I might not have the fuel pressure needed, so my NEW MECHANIC is testing that out. Unfortunately he doesnt have alot of time on his hands so it only weekend stuff here on out. Hopefully its something in the wiring and not the pump. Nissan quoted me bout 300 bucks for that one.

Finally got it out of the evil mechanics hands, it loses power at about 3k and both rear calipers are frozen, also leaking something fierce, powersteering I think. The new guy is a good friend that wont rip me off and hes doing it for free mostly.
