00VI egr plumbing

Halfway through my 00vi install- using 00 upper, lower, rail and injectors, rear cover and rear coil packs, stock TB and IACV. So I've got the lower, rail and injectors installed. I'm hoping to use the 00 egr uptube- but removing the stock uptube is turning out to be a real PITA.

Those that have done this- did you have to remove the horizontal EGR tube (assuming it's part of the EGR system) that goes from back of the block around to somewhere in the vicinity of the bottom end of the EGR uptube? How did you remove it- was it just two bolts holding it in? I'm trying to find a sane approach to this before I start ripping everything out (or just block it off). Trying to remove the BPT and it's neighbor but one of the two bolts that holds that bracket in I just can't friggin get to either. Any ideas here? Any and all help is appreciated- I've only got 2 hours or so to work on the Maxima these days, so it's been sitting in the driveway for 2 months now (my TL is my daily driver).

I ripped everything off since I wasn't planning on running EGR after the swap. Not sure what you mean horizontal unless you mean the tube coming off the rear header.
BPT?

Yup- that's what I mean. Think it's also referred to as the "EGR pipe".

BPT- backpressure transducer, and it's neighbor being the EGR valve (I believe)- the two pancake-looking things near the rear vacuum gallery.

I've gone through all the threads bout removing all the EGR components- do you remember what specific pieces you removed? Did you use JBWeld to seal off the open ports?

i think the BPT stuff.... isn't that on a bracket? i removed the bracket, but kept most my hoses and stuff, it's just sitting there. i had to bend it out of the way to use the 5g TB + IACV.
i also still have EGR. i know at least for my 4g egr guide tube, it's held on by 2 nuts and a couple washers on the bottom part. i had to dremel the end of one of the bolts to get the nut off though, since there's a metal tube running in the way that made it near impossible to get the nut and fat washer off w/o dremeling to make room.

Yup, the Dremel always comes in handy , especially for fuel hose clamps! Looks like I'll be bending and cutting this weekend. Thanks!
