I got my 4th gen maxi about a year ago and i was so excited that i would put in anything and everything that i could find. Dint worry about the brand as long its a mod. But i learnt a valuable lesson when you are modding a car use quality parts. I just finished redoing my exhaust and I Restate Re-doing my exhaust because i had a budget Y, resonated test pipe and an Ebay cat back and all i had is getting pulled over, and a nasty CEL but afer replacing all these with a nice Greddy SP2, and a warpspeed cat together with the budget y. I have to say "That is one bad motha".

anyway long story short when you do something, do it right and above all invest in a measley $20 bucks, donate and search. It will save you so much in the long run.

Donations are 20 bucks a pop now?!
Oh, and its pretty much a rule of thumb not to buy peformance parts off ebay, atleast from those power sellers. But you already knew that...

yeah already knew that. First thing you should know about modding a car is not to cheap out on performance parts and not to go to ebay for quality performance. Come on, they offer a 20hp chip, turbonator (wtf?) and all that other crap that people think is good. I see so many max's here in CT with altezzas, fart cans, wings, and chrome rims without a drop. Thats not even mentioning the guys on cardomain that posts their cars like they are the ****. Not sure how many cars in there I've seen where guys put up over 200hp for the estimated hp number on their stock car....always want to leave them a message saying "actually you do not have 200+hp in your car". But I can't do that haha. I know people have preferences but thinking your car is modded because you buy everything off ebay is crazy. Sorry for the rant.

i'm gonna disagree about the ebay thing to some extent, because i bought the JDM motors headers, and my bestfriend got budget y-pipe, i've only installed the y-pipe an until someone can tell me or show me the difference in any aspect then i will say ebay have a couple nice products, i mean come on what is the difference in buying... lets say a greddy SP2 system on ebay or a greddy SP2 on greddy.com??? what if the ebay price beats greddy??? yes its always good to get quality products but ebay's not the only place with "so called bad products" ebay can be great

yeah but those products arnt ebay. They are those specific sellers. There is no mass company on ebay selling budget y pipes or sp2s. OBX is large but I don't think they are that good a product. Some people do, just my opinion I guess. But I believe the only good performance products on ebay are from private sellers and not a bigger company.

so you bought everything from ebay ?

i dont see why you would need to replace the Y pipe. the ebay cat-back is understand able if you match that up with any test pipe its going to be loud cause you pretty much aleast deleted 1 of your 2 resonators if not both. i've seen cat-backs there were like pretty much straight pipes.

Lets get something straight, i wasnt bashing ebay i was simply stating the fact that he description was wrong thats all. Just like was aid earlier, speed chips good for 20hp. If you dont know any better wouldnt you buy 20hp for 30bucks. Just saying.

You arent listening my friend. On ebay when that fart can was bought, it said stainless steal and a NICE DEEP TONE. When i put in the test pipe its only because i hadnt donated and i couldnt search and at the same time there was a budget special on y and test pipe(its a free test pipe i don dont pay extra for install so why not). I was just saying i wasnt asking for your critisism. And if you read the thread i have learnt from my mistakes.
