Strut bearing location with coilovers?

My springs wind up and pop when im turning, removed the struts to find that the strut bearing is missing. I have Ground Control Coil overs and was wondering where the bearing goes. Is this where it should be? Also should i rtv the bearing to the strut mount, so that it stays in place and doesnt get smashed by the upper perch.

yeah that's the right place for the bearing. I RTVed mine, but last night I took the RTV out because it did not stick up there. You have it in the right location, and when you are lowering the car do it slowley and make sure the bearing seats in the right place. Often times I have ruined these bearings because I lower the car down and the bearing center circle does not line up properly with the strut tower hole that it is supposed to slide into. I hope this make sense.

order the strut bearing from ground control and you wont ever have to worry about breaking the strut bearing again. it replaces the top hat and it has the bearing built in.
