Mac based OBD-II Scanner

I've been looking around and wondering if I could find a program and a cable that would allow me to hook up my Macbook to my ECU and read codes as well as a slew of other things. One product I was specifically interested in was one from:

http://autoenginuity.com/

But, this is only PC based and it's also $250. Anyone know if it is at all possible to get an OBDII -> USB cable, and if they make Mac software? I could always boot my Mac in Windows but $250 is a bit pricey.

My other option is this:

A $100 scanner, comes with cable so we go from OBDII to USB, and has software with it. That paired with Boot Camp, I may be able to do it. Any thoughts? Has anyone tried this setup before?

[EDIT: Should this be in the Audio & Electronics forum?}
