I Sold the Maximas

I picked up a ZR2 Blazer this winter and finally put my Maxima for sale in town last week and sold it in the first day. Then my brother had me put his up for sale while he's on spring break and sold his in 3 days. I couldn't believe how fast they sold.

just before they left with the new owners

Yep, its snowing on April 4th

so I guess this is my goodbye thread.

You couldn't have parted out your 95/96 red/clears?!

Sorry to see you go, but have fun with your new car though!

It's weird isn't it, I put mine up for sale to appease the wife because the Volvo didn't sell in over 4 months being listed so I thought I was safe. The da** car wasn't on the lot for 6 hours and I received 3 calls about it. I reluctantly sold it to an old Army friend, I drove by yesterday in fact and showed him the new 03 (I told myself). The hardest part is seeing the car being driven by someone else at least for me it is. Good luck, make sure your next car is an upgrade on what you had, (that will help ease the pain) if you have more features than in your previous ride.

I love my new car, lots of little stuff like having outside temp on the mirror, more comfortable seats and most of all 4wd.

I didn't even think to take my red/clears off the car, its one of those things I just forget about because I saw them everyday.

hey maxgig, question for you. How much of an upgrade is the 5.5 gen compared to the 4th gen? I'm debating whether or not to sell my car for a 5.5 or maybe something different. Just want an opinion from someone with some expirence... by the way, I love that blue color, did any 95-96 come with that stock?

I totally agree. That's one of the problems i have with selling my car privately, if someone in my area buys it and i see it on the road i will miss it. but if i found a used car @ a dealer that was nice enough i would rather trade it in w/ the dealer. prolly not gunna see her again once it goes to those big dealer auctions!

hey guys. how much did you sell 'em for? my dad just upgraded to the '07 G35, so i'm selling his '97 SE for him. i don't know why he's selling it tho - he installed an H&R sport spring set himself and it's super clean. i just need to know how much they go for nowadays.

Driving it is a whole different animal, as far as overall different. Mechanically it is just about as easy to work on.

Hope you like the Blazer. Quick question, possibly n00b-ish, is the blue a factory color? If it is what's the color code, it's an awesome color.

Yeah that blue looks great on the max...i dont think its a factory option cause I guarantee that there would be a whole lot more of them.

the blue is a hyndai blue.

it was hard to see the cars go. I had the 95 for 3 years and 50k miles. The 97 was around for 2.5years, I put probably around 5-6k on that car too before it became my brother's

The hp alone is enough to keep you smiling. In my case I had a 97 SE 5 speed with cloth seats and a upgraded 6 pack CD radio from a Nissan Pathfinder. My upgrade is the 03 SE 6 speed with leather, steering wheel controls, 255 hp, 2 stage heated seats, heated steering wheel, a 5 step sliding sunroof, the compass, one touch up and down driver and passenger windows and the Zenon lights. Even though the car is a stick it shifts so seamlessly that you would think its and automatic. The only drawback is that I seem to be filling up more since I tend to forget that I have a sixth gear and catch myself cruising in 4th at 3k rpms wasting gas, but I'll get used to it and find the sweet spot. But trust me maximilia, you won't be dissapointed if you get the 5.5. Oh and one last thing, there is no longer an antenna to get broke off in the carwash or ice covered and frozen in the winter time.

I went from a 99 max to an 02. My 99 was an auto, my 02 is a 6 speed. Everything about this car has been better except the handling. I fell the 4th gen handled a lot better than this car does without some suspension upgrading. The most noticeable difference is the 3.5 engine, obviously. The torque on it makes you feel like you're riding a beast. Personally, I like the interior much better. Both my 99 and my 02 are black leather interior, but the quality on the 02 is much better imo. The leather feels more comfortable, but looks just as sharp. Also, the options; memory seats, one-touch front driver/passenger windows, one-touch sunroof, heated steering wheel, and HLSD all prove to be significant upgrades. I like the A33 body style more too, though I didn't at first. The auto-dimming mirror is also a godsend, given the way I drive, I get a lot of slow poke puppies that like throw their high beams on after I pass them, and now I never even notice it. The HID head lights light up the road so well that I rarely ever even have to use the highs. The car is truly a worthwile upgrade from the 4th gen.

There is another bad thing though, the stereo. You get the option of a Bose 6 cd changer, but this unit is actually manufactured by Clarion for the 5.5 gen, and it sucks. It skips more, sounds worse, and cuts out. VERY annoying, I ended up replacing it with an Alpine system which sounds much better. I truly think aside from the extra power, the interior is my favorite upgrade from the 4th gen. I have pictures of my interior cleaning here if your interested:

I love with my 4th gen with all my heart, that thing was like a child to me, but when it got rear-ended and I had to get rid of it, the 5.5 gen really did a good job at healing my sorrows.
