What do you mean your worried about camber? So many members have dropped themselves with no big issues that would be brothersome.

no see, my friend has a crx and he slammed his car (as do most honda owners) and his camber was sooooo bad and thats just not what i want, and also i dont really feel like taking my car apart to put a camber kit on it.

First of all, coilovers AREN'T that expensive. I saw a used set in the 4th gen for around $450 for D2's. I'm guessing you're going to run them on stock shocks. Its a bad idea because ur shocks are going to blow. You will have camber issues but not too much. The reason why your friend has really bad camber is because like you said, he slammed it. I wouldn't recommend and car on stock shocks to be running on springs..

if you drop it only 1.5 to 2 inches, you should have very little camber problems. its been 2 years on eibachs and my tires are wearing out pretty evenly.

i remember when i slammed my integra, i had to replace my tires every 6 months cuz it was wearing the inside of the tires really bad but the maxima is holding out very well for whatever reason.

12 different suspension setups on 4th gens under my belt. Every alignment check came out within spec. You can drop the maxima without needing camber adjustment. It is wise to get it checked abotu 500 miles after you lower it, but actually having it adjusted is a rarity.

I did have mine dialed in one time, but that was because I had ALL brand new stuff- tires, springs, struts, rims, and the guy who was replacing my clutch did it for $20. I was in spec already, but he tightened it up a bit.

Verdict: get is checked, but you shouldn't need camber adjustment.

Just don't be a tool and do a crazy drop that gets rid of all of your suspension travel.

see i know i shouldnt even be looking to drop my car unless i have an appropriate amout of money to work with but 450 for used is kind of too much considering i make 6.50 expecially when i can buy a brand new set of springs for around 200 its a bigger risk im taking because my shocks will probably give out sometime but is it really that dirastic of a change that my shocks will give out so soon? another guy said that he has just springs on his car and hes been like that for 2 years with little camber issues are your shocks ok too? or did you have to replace them?

You can some Tein S-Tech springs, they could be used on stock shocks and should not give any camber wear at all. Just get an alignment after lowering your car.

And I think it's TOE that wears out your tires more than camber.

Basically, don't forget the alignment though.

I would not recommend 4th Gen S-tech springs to ANYONE. Tein H-Tech, yes...but not S-tech.

Is it because the drop is lower?

It is because the drop reduces suspension travel to almost nil.

Got the S-Tech on my ride and the shop was able to align it within stock specs just fine after. Haven't noticed a camber problem after that.

No camber kit here

i am planning on getting the s- techs myself, to get rid of that horrible gap. But i'm unsure on struts though, dont really wanna pay 450 for some damn struts, that will blow out in time anyways.

Progress springs are just fine and gives a very decent drop of 1.75 front and 1.5 in the back and I'm running kyb gr2's. I'm riding that **** on nyc streets and its been about 3 weeks since I had them and no problems here it actually feels like oem shocks

Up to 2" you should be fine. But like someone else said make sure you get an alignment afterwards.

Gotcha, it's like those overkill slammed Honda out there right? My friends tell me that them being that dumped is worst than the stock suspension.

Much worse, because they are unpredictable.

Anything that is non-adjustable won't have a warranty with an S-Tech drop, but illuminas and AGXs will be warrantied (I think). I know that they have better warranties than the non-adjustable struts.

If I were you, I would pick a drop that is less severe, then run Tokico HP struts, or even KYB GR-2s. GR-2s limit the warranty to a 1.5" drop- not sure about the HPs.

Pretty much everything except Sprints will be less severe than S-Techs.

I don't knwo whatto tell you. A32s have limited suspension travel as it is. 2" of drop removes 2" of that travel. You will bottom out and have a rough, potentially unsafe ride.

If you get springs that have an aggressive drop but have a very stiff spring rate, you will avoid bottoming out, but you will certainly shorten the lifespan of your struts.

Unfortunately, that is the reality of lowering a Maxima.

The most aggressive drop that I would recommend would be a set of Progress or Eibach Pro-Kit springs. Based on my experience, I- personally- would not drop an A32 on anything other than Tein H-Techs ever again.

They might handle it for a short while, assuming that you have fairly smooth roads, but they will not be warrantied. Like I said, GR-2s are warrantied only up to a 1.5" drop.

That is an excellent budget setup. If you can save up the extra cash, the Tokico Illuminas are well worth it, particularly in the front.

You could also add a stillen-clone RSB and an ebay FSTB to tighten up handling a bit more.

Approx. how long could the struts/shocks last if you just replaced the springs with h-techs?

GR-2s. Illuminas, ans AGXs have a lifetime warranty with that drop. Check on the HPs- it should be the same.

I ran HPs on H&R (similar to H-Techs) for 40K with no problems.

kyb agx no warranty with a drop of MORE than 2". Also, warranty is void if you use an impact gun to tighten the top hat down.
kyb agx with h&r. The only setup I've run. Pictures are in the suspension sticky.

How about running h-techs on a stock strut setup? How long can those be expected to last on a car with 110K miles?

H&Rs tend to run nose-high on 5-speeds, which he has.

So youre telling me that my gr2's are not warrantied because I'm running progress springs with a 1.7 drop in the front and 1.5 drop in the back?

btw the suspension travel on my is great and still maintains its aggressive stance.
