Poll: What Car Should I Buy Next???

Heres the scope.
I need a hot import whose wheel bolt pattern fits ours. (5x114.3) Thankfully thats a very popular size in alot of good cars. Any suggestions are appreciated. I have 7 of these wheels so i would like to hold on to them for the next whip. FYI i am going to work this next vehicle inside out and have it a Daily Driver. Looking for V6 FWD or AWD preferably a 4door(unless a coupe screams my name.

wow, what a coincidence. for the past 2 days, ive been contemplating what my next car would be too.
..but it'd be nice to know what you're looking for? standard? v6/v8? sedan? coupe? older? newer? FWD/RWD?

if you want a lexus, i'd go with a GS400. too many IS's around now. just my opinion.

If you are going to drive by yourself or have just one passenger majority of the time, I would consider a G35 coupe. If you're a socialite that always has a car full of friends, then get a sedan.

Seeing that you are in Philly, you'll see snow with this daily driver during the winter. I would lean towards FWD or AWD as well.

That being said, a G35 AWD sedan isn't a bad deal if you can find one. '03 Maxima with a limited slip would be a bonus in the winter also.

In any case, I would budget a few dollars for winter tires.

Except for the fact that the G35x only comes in autotragic.

Oooooooo... M45....

I saw one of these at an auto show in Nashville, TN... Damn sexy! Roomy, sweet interior paneling, leather, telescoping steering wheel AND instrument cluster... Since cost is undoubtedly a factor, I vote G35... Might try to get one as my next car in a few years.

haha i love our 3rd gens they look so freakin hot for thier age. and if it wasnt for my rottiing body and alot of other things... i would try keepin my baby longer but $6k to keep it running alone is enough, so there comes a time for everything. Yeah the G35 seems to be most popular.with the 02-03 MAX just behind..but... the G35 RWD is definately is not the best daily driver. But Do they really come in AWD? i didnt know that and if so i may just have to check it out! And it may be a sin but i may be leaning towards autotragic. I want to easily get road ____ haha( i know u can with manual but its a pain) I also dont want to have to "extra" worry about bad weather situations. I just want to go slow in snow, so RWD seems like a nightmare. Thanks yawl for the suggestions.

i wouldnt rule out RWD for snow. my friend drives a 97 Merc C280 in Canadian winters up here, but keep in mind he has snow tires, but that car is totally fine. Most of the newer luxo-RWD cars now have some sort of TCS to help you out.

i was looking into a new car myself, even tho i totally cant afford it. i got it down to the lexus LS430 b/c of the dependability. its RWD so it might be bad in snow, but its got a whole bunch of traction control systems. i would've went for a '01, and it has laser cruise control. I wanted it for the boatload of features, and it was about 25k w/ nav system. i heard the overall ride and handling is good.

i have to admit the 01 ls430s dont look too great on the outside compared to the newer gen. Heres is fairly good review about it. glosses over all of the features.

Meh on RWD in snow. How do BMW drivers manage? What about 240sx drivers? Driving with sense is the most important thing and snow tires help out alot...

Id go for a G35. Lots of modability...

You're buying a car based on it being able to fit rims you already own

Still, some good cars on the list, I would go with the G35 coupe if you don't need four doors. A G35 sedan would have been my choice a year ago but it was little out of my price range. With decent snow tires I wouldn't worry about RWD and snow.

who's to say you can't do a 6mt swap, taken from a g35 RWD? i don't know really with the way it'll have a transfer case, and maybe a different kind of driveshaft going to it... but there's a chance that if the at and mt are the same length that you could bolt-on the 6mt..

What you need to look at when buying a car is do you have a family or not? If so go with the Altima SE-R or G35coupe if not get the 350z and drift the shiz out of it LOL.

G35 coupe, they are the bandwagon car for a reason.

Also if your concerned with the winter just put winter tires on your stock rims and get summer tires for new rims. Plus just don't drive like an *** in the snow and you'll probably be able to do fine.

Thats another poll in the making about what im gonna do with this beauty when its that time pm me later. (Yeah.... i have 7....cuz...when i wanted a 5-th one for backup they were discontinued....and i like the Racing Hart C-5 look alot, so a kid who busted one of his and was left with 3 (which is why i wanted a back up for myself) sold me 3+tires for $475 shipped. 80% tires($125 new), wheels($99 a piece) on wheelmax when they had em for sale.)

I really like everything about the g35, my buddy just picked up a mint one at an auction for $18k with only 20,000miles yeah...tell me about it. I do tend to drive people around, but i allways sit in the back of my buddies and its actually somewhat roomy in the back. I just gonna have to test drive em ..... im definately ready by the end of the summer, i just need to flaunt this beauty as long as possible. This is big to me cuz when i get a car i am gonna keep if for atleast 7+ years, and mod the crapout of it in a very critical detailed way.

Thanks yawl

i wouldn't know the difference, tbh. the only subarus i ever looked at were the legacy/outback and the forester. the impreza plainjane is too small for a 5 passenger car, and the WRX is too darn flashy. though i've heard they're a blast to drive.

maybe never. the maxima is being pushed away from its sports sedan status, into Avalon territory. You don't see an Avalon GT-S do you? That's because the Maxima is getting to be a large family car, and is near-about overgrown to still be FWD-only. They'd be wise to offer AWD because that is becoming popular now (Ford Fusion & Five Hundred, Subarus, Audi, etc etc). The altima of today has taken over what the Maxima was before. They shoulda given a 2.4/3.0 to the 2002 Altima and a brand-new VQ35 to the 2002+ Maxima, to keep the MAX in Maxima, but they didn't, and now you see the aftermath. Heck, the 6.5th Gen Max is CVT only IIRC.
