That Goss's Garage on Motorweek had a program about cleaning the EGR with some huge contraption with chemicals. I just found this without looking very hard:

Thing about that is, where is all that carbon build up going ?? Right into your motor, onto your valves and gumming up your pistons.

The only real way to clean your EGR valve and EGR pipes it to take it all part and attack it manually. I wouldnt trust anything to flush it out beacuse thats heavy heavy built up that will go right into your motor

ive seen the carbon build in EGR i dont think this will work on it. may be after you get it all part out and clean it may be this will keep it from happening spary this every 3K miles i guess
