I actually don't consider them to be expensive. It's just that I wouldn't put them on anything FWD but I am interested to see how they look on a Maxima.

Right, I understand what you mean. But if you had that kind of money to buy Do-Luck wheels, you wouldn't be playing with a Maxima in the first place you know what I mean?

The USA Do Luck dist is just south of me. I bought some other wheels from those guys. These things are insanely expensive. I saw some that were for my G35 and they were approx $600 each.

If I could afford them, I'd buy them...but then again, if I could afford wheels like that I wouldn't be driving a Maxima anyhow.

They look like dual spokes per... so that'd make them 12 spokers? I don't like them, prob a pain to clean between the spokes.

Well understandably most people realize it's just a Maxima and that money could be better spent elsewhere. But there are quite a few sets of SSR comps and Volks on here... I'd get some 17*8.5 SSR comps if I had the cash, but alas... I don't.

And it's just a Maxima.

I have Comps, but they do not compare to these Do-Luck bad boys.

I fail to see what this has to do with anything. All super-expensive wheels are a waste if you want to go there. It's just a wheel, right? And there's ALWAYS a more affordable wheel option out there. Most of the time people buy nice wheels either because they LOOK GOOD or for bragging rights from purchasing a certain brand of wheels. Vanity. It's like anything else. Unless of course, one wants to buy these for their light weight and said performance advantages, then their purchase is already justified. Why one car is more deserving of over-the-top wheels than another, though, is beyond me. Besides, perception is reality. If someone thinks it's worth it for their car, leave them be.

those wheels are sick and you should put them on a 4th gen, that would look hott. whats wrong with putting expensive wheels on a maxima, it doesn't matter what car you mod, it matters about the love you have for the car. i have a porche boxter but i would rather drive the maxima any day, becuse i love the maxima more than the porche. and i definately agree with nismology

Those wheels are nice, but they are not that much more than a set of volks, g-games, 3 piece racing harts. Hre wheels run more than that. Wheels are like anything else you pay for quality. Plus alot of brands are made by the same company just different name.

Set of Do-Lucks: ~$2500-3000 plus shipping plus tires
Maxima: $4K family sedan

I'm just saying.

In case you haven't noticed, it's usually the norm for people to do up civics in every way possible and think they have a nice car. The more t00ner parts the closer it is to a BMW amirite?

Well put.

I find it funny that I don't see the "It's only a Maxima" responses to threads about F/I setups, high dollar a/v setups or expensive paint/body work.

When you pay the price of your car for a set of wheels for your family sedan, a lot of people will call you crazy.

Then again when you pay $1k for a pair of fancy headlights people call you crazy as well.

To each his own, but I'd upgrade a lot of things on my car before I got a set of wheels that cost $750 a pop, especially when the function can be served just as well or better with wheels that cost half that.

IMHO the maxima was just that. A maxima. I modded accordingly. I had probably 5 sets of different wheels. But I never went and spent $4,000 on wheels and tires such as buying a new set of Do Lucks would require.

Resale value is irrelevant. If you mod with resale value in mind then you're a fool because you can NEVER justify it. Like i said, perception is reality. People dump thousands of dollars into their econo-hatches or full-size luxury sedan because they want to personalize the car they like the way they want to, period. Sure these wheels are excessive; no one's denying that. But they would be excessive for ANY car they are mounted on because there are cheaper lightweight forged wheel options out there. It's either you can afford them or you can't, regardless of what car you drive.

Still waiting on the explanation that breaks down exactly why one car is more deserving of over-the-top wheels than another.

Only explanation I can give: If you park your car in public places, I would think it a bit imprudent to have $750-each wheels. Talk about a target for theives. You'd never have any peace of mind when you park your car in the mall parking lot or in a public garage while you're at the movie theatre, that's for sure.

If you have a show car, that would be the justification, since it's all about how much you spend and how "bling" it is, and most likely the car will always be parked in a secure place when it's not being driven.

For track cars...eh... There are alot of forged, super-lightweight wheels that cost alot less, and few people at the track are impressed by $4k worth of wheels or whatever, especially if the car is still slow (by track I mean racecourse, not the drag strip)....

Just like anything though.....some people want to spend alot of money just because they think it makes them special if they have special wheels that nobody else can (or wants to) afford. A 60" HD plasma TV is excessive too, but alot of people here probably have one.

Agreed 100%.

Correct again. But any car can be a show car, so the "it's just a maxima" argument holds no water here.

Werd. If one could afford these it's safe to say they wouldn't be seeing any track duty.

We basically feel the same way about this.

But i'll say it one more time...
