12.8 @ 114 second time out

Last summer I got only one run in on the turbo setup and that was a 13.00 @ 113. Finally got to the track again. It was about 70 degrees out and the track was gripping pretty good. Didnt change anything from last time except for traction bars which made a very big difference...felt more solid and less wheel hop. I left the DRs at 30psi and just spun them a little bit and launched around 1500-2000 rpms on all the runs.

1st run:
60'----2.085
1/4----12.817
MPH---112.03

Launched good but hit the limiter in third.

2nd run:
60'----2.151
1/4----12.929
MPH---113.28

3rd run:

Best time and trap, just bogged at the line a bit.

I decided to do one final run and launch a bit harder and I ended up with a 14.3 @ 97. Not sure what happend, I initially thought that I fried my clutch because it started to shoot to redline at the top of 1st, 2nd and 3rd and then I just backed off, I then put it in 4th and got on it some and it went right up to the limiter. There must have been something spilled on the track because the clutch was fine afterwards.

I got videos of the runs, they will be up as soon as I get a firewire cable.

greats times, I knew with traction you would get there

but why not drop the psi on the dr's to around 20-25psi it will allow you to launch alot harder

Nice runs! For that trap there's more there yet but it will be in the launch/first half of the track.

Wow nice work mang. What DRs are you on? Drop the pressure in them and start launching harder and you'll get even deeper in the 12s. You could probably hit a 12.4-12.5 or so with a really good launch.

Im running BFGs 255/50/16 on 7.5" wide 300zx wheels. I plan to go next week and Ill try lowering the pressure and launching a bit harder.

I have a CF trunk and aluminum bumper supports sitting around that I have to put on and I have to figure out some other ways to loose weight besides making it into a race car.

You could get rear 8.5 wide TT wheels if they fit. 1 inch more contact patch...

All around.

I wanted to get the 8.5" wide ones, was just waiting to pick them up for cheap.

With a 1.90 60ft (which you should eventually be able to do on those tires), you should be good for a 12.50@114. I think Neal pulled a 1.9 on 17-inch 245 nittos.

30 psi is way too much BTW. These BFGs will handle 15-18 psi no problem.

Good. Keep doing that. The RT has nothing to do with your ET. Just launch once the third yellow lights up, but dont pay too much attention to it. Its only important in bracket racing.

why would he want to add the complication of nitrous when he can just turn the boost up a pound or two with an appropriate tune?

Thats the plan to just turn the boost up a bit after I can get the appropriate electronics to tune.

I do still have my NX wet kit installed from before the turbo setup, but dont really need it.

Your right I didnt look at it that way
But.. its complicated period.
Say you increase the boost with tune. Then what is the purpose of nitrious when you have a turbo.?
It was a compliment aswell as ecouragement to shave his 1/4 time.
