HELP: Slave Cylinder related probelm
My brother's '95 Maxima's slave cylinder went out recently and the clutch fluid canister was drained by the time he noticed. At first, the shifter would refuse to go into gear. Somehow, between messing with the shifter and clutch pedal (so that he could limp the car back home) the shifter began going into any gear without the clutch pedal being depressed.
Now, even with the broken slave cylinder removed, the shifter will go in and out of gears without the clutch pedal depressed. Is this normal when the slave cylinder goes out or do I have another clutch related problem?
Thanks in advance for your help!
