OMFG New Wheel Fitment STAGGGGGGEERRRRRRDDDDD

So I gots the chrome 16s up front with the 215 Avons and the 300zx 16s with the 245 Hankooks out backz!

I painted the Z32s gunmetal like everyone wanted but forgot to move my fingers while I was painting... oops!

Coincidentally I also put some slicks on 'em, apparently Hankook makes these by shaving the RS2s to 0/32nds.

Secondary rubbah fo lyfe y0!!!

I don't know, I put in some camber bolts and adjusted them until it looked right and felt right. Probably about -1.5 degrees.

Are the RS2s a race compound? A shaved street tire is just that.

why are you running two different rims on your car? also what is the point of putting a wider rim in the rear?

RS2s are uber compound. Much better than race compound. They had Korean gods enchant this tire.

RS2s area usually shaved initially to 4/32" for autocross/track use. They are not r-comps though.

Mine will look like his in another season of autocross...

Oh. Sorry for not knowing offhand the trivial state of your tires.

And yes, staggered wheel/tire fitment is really gay. And that's not sarcastic.

215's on the stockers is decent width, I think I ran 205's.

True, but fact is fact. Wider wheels and tires are heavier, which means they'll hurt your suspension's ability to articulate and track over rough surfaces, and beam suspension is already bad enough in that department. And since the rear end is so light, the effect will be even worse. Why bother when rear grip isn't even much of an issue because the car is so heavily understeer-biased?

It doesn't really matter to me. I like the way it looks. I mod MY car for ME. ya know? If I really want some traction then I'll throw my slicks on the car or I'll just pick up some TT 300zx wheels a buddy of mine has and use the 8.5" wide ones up front.

Mod your car for you, that's good and all and I'm all for it. It just really hurts the handling and ride.

Yea I know what it does. I don't really do any spirited driving anymore anyways, my driving record won't allow it. lol I'll eventually get around to getting some 17x8's all the way around when I want the car to corner but the only thing I will rock in that size are some SSR Competitions. In the mean time I gotta get this V2 kit.

MorpheusZero you need to save up and get some real wheels man! You've been riding with those stockers forever, and you just keep on changing them back and forth.
So when are you getting some nice wheels?

Eh, I go for function over form and bang for the buck. $300 for two sets of wide wheels which GOOD tires (as in, T1Rs, RS2s... something with grip) average less than $100/tire for sounds fine to me. I was considering getting some 17*8.5 SSR comps or 17*9 FN01R-Cs (lightweight plus can fit BBK) but honestly the cost plus the increased cost of tires isn't worth it to me right now. If I get that kind of money it will be better spent elsewhere (e.g. E30, beater 500cc bike, tour of Europe, etc).

If I find a great deal on some FN01R-Cs, superleggeras, SSR comps, etc, I'll consider it though.

Hard to tell in the pics but that looks like nearly -4deg camber.

Shaved 245 Kooks are stil heavy and street grip. If you're interested I've got some inexpensive extra race rubber I'm not using you could compare against. I've got a pair of 265/45 V710 and 245/45 AS303's I'm not using right now.

Nah I'm a poor poor man right now, in fact I'm probably going to get some 225/50 crappy long-lasting all-seasons for now and put the 245/45 kooks on the rear (that actually still have a lot of rubber on them) in the garage or try to sell 'em to some S2000 guys. I turned the front kooks completely bald after 4500 miles (not just camber wear), I can't imagine what I'd do to some Hoosiers or Victoracers.

Thanks for the offer though, if I had the green I'd probably take you up on it.

Hehe, spoken like a true noob.

P.S. thread was a joke (I'm broke and don't have a full set of wheels with tires on them = mismatching wheels and tires)
