I wouldn't paint my calipers unless they were worth looking at. (i.e. Z32s/4+ piston)

Nice!! Much, much better IMO. Good job. Whatever you do, don't spray brake cleaner on them, or the paint will run.

the first one took about two hours with setting up and figuring out what i was doing, after that about a little over an hour each, letting about 20 minutes between coats. I used duplicolor ceramic caliper paint and couldnt drive for 24 hours after putting the tires back on.

too close to the car to tell. get a full shot of the side of the car. it'll help to see how it fits the car. otherwise, yea, of course a colored caliper is gonna look better than a rusted one...

hence the reason why my calipers remain covered in rust

How does painting them red make them look like 300zx calipers?

If you're doing them on the car, I'd just use the brush method. I don't feel comfortable with spray paint anywhere near my car after a Wiper Arm painting incident on one of my old cars.

To the OP, looks like you did a good job with those. I was thinking about painting mine red but I think it'd be a little "Red Overload" on my car.

not i think it will match nicely if u DONT get any more read aside from the calipers. it would be a nice low key touch.

I wouldn't have anything red unless I had a BBK.. and that does not include 300zx brakes.. To me that's not even close.

I'm gonna have to paint mine and they're gonna be silver or black.

Good job though.. you put forth the effort and if you like them, then it obviously paid off.

So 4 piston calipers arent even close?
The Z32 calipers and larger rotors make a BBK so the calipers should at least be 50% of a BBK right???

I think it looks better, except for the center cap-would have left it alone, cant go wrong with silver, I did mine and think if you have rims silver always looks appealing.

Gassian - Dont spray them at all, I bought the spray and it ran bad when i tested it out. the Duplicolor caliper paint kit was awesome, had everything you need minus a wire brush and sandpaper.

Nearthisbridge - thanks, I think you should do yours in a silver, that would look sick with the red

Nas and Apparition- the center cap was gold, which i absolutely hate on a car, so I thought it would look good if i painted it to match the calipers, I have red highlights in a few other places so i thought it would tie in together, and i think it looks better that way.

thanks to everyone else who thought it looked good, and i know its only stock calipers but it was good practice for future nice calipers and rotors, and i got to see if I'd like the color before painting an expensive set.
