That should be attached to the wheel and it will come off when you take the wheel off. ???

uhm ... cuz I was reading the Haynes and they said in order to remove the CV axle, I need to remove the nut when the car is still on the ground with the wheel on ... so I was assuming the nissan cap is removable somehow ... lolz, am I wrong?

You said you were changing out rotors, right? Not the axle? You don't need to remove the axle nut to remove the rotor (not to mention that you'd need to get the wheel off first anyway to remove the cotter pin and castle nut).

Jack up the car, remove the wheel, remove caliper bolts (14mm) and torque member bolts (IIRC 18mm), then remove the rotor. Reassemble in reverse.

Honestly...if you can't get the centercap off of a rim, and are attempting to do so when it's completely unnecessary, I don't think you should trust yourself with your brakes.

In any case, if you're changing out rotors you should change out your pads at the same time, at the very least since you're in there, usually because if there's gouging or something wrong with the rotor, it's caused by the pads in the first place.

Uhm, thanks pmohr ...

But actually what I'm doing is:

replacing break pad
replacing rotor
replacing right CV axle (since my CV boot is torn opened)

and that's it ... I think ^^"

I wouldn't trust anyone that says "lolz" with my brakes.

Then like I said the wheel has to come off first to comfortably remove the cotter pin and the castle nut from the axle nut, and while the wheel's off you can pop out the center cap from the inside. Do you have air tools or an electric impact? It's a lot easier than just trying to get leverage on the axle nut (it takes a bit, spec is like 181-230 ft/lbs or around there).

In any case, be sure you have a 36mm axle nut socket, a breaker bar, and a long piece of pipe. If you're replacing the rotor and pads on one side, I do hope you're doing both.

pmohr,

thanks for the advice. I have a breaker bar and 36mm axle nut socket, and an old PVC pipe. And yes, I'm replacing bothside.

and for those who are offended by the way i type or talk. i do apologize. i'm new with the whole automotive thing and unlike most of us, i don't have an automotive dad or tutor. but i do have a good friend with some background education in the field to help me.

who doesn't have their first attempt?

I would be weary of a section of PVC. It's relatively strong for what it is, but I certainly wouldn't trust hanging on the end of, essentially, a tube of plastic. When it breaks, your *** hits the ground, and hard.
