Adam, if you get the blacked out bumper lights as well with the R34 ones, it will look sick!

They are not bad....I have the best sylvanias (sp) money can buy, and they are pretty decent. Spending to much money on performace or I would have some projectors by now.

I liked the one piece look of them, the only reason I went back to OEM is because I like the cleared out look better than black on my car. Like already known the low beam output blows, but it was liveable.

Not really, unless you use FX projectors.

If you want a yellow color go for 3000K. But if you're using HID projectors the only way to go is 4300/4100K IMO.

The R34 lights look hella good on MOST 4th gens when the lights are OFF. Once you turn them on you see the horrendous light output.. I wanted them til Al got them on his ride and I was able to check them out locally..
I'll keep my modified 99 housings with HIDs.. I like them PLUS I can see!!

Holy crap, please do NOT do this. The R34's beam pattern is ATROCIOUS and you will be blinding everyone on the road, not to mention still outputting light horribly.

You will actually be degrading your light output if you go from stock '97 housings to R34-style housings. The light will be very uneven and not very usable. If you put projectors into the R34 housings, though, you can modify the light output considerably.

For more information on projector retrofits, check out the HIDplanet forums at http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/
