how to go low,and why i shouldent want coilovers?
so,i want to go low,on my last car we did a strut and spring combo,it worked out great, but i want to try something adjustable. que coilovers, now people are telling me i dont want coil overs, why is this? and if i do decide to go with a spring/strut combo what will get me the lowest(97 maxima)?
thanks in advance.
thanks in advance.
any lower than 1.5" and your handling will suck, tires will scrub (i.e not last long), and bump steer will increase.
Go with any spring/strut OR coilover combo that will keep you no more than 1.5" lower than stock.
Eibachs are always a good choice.

It's not that static camber becomes a problem, it's that your camber CURVE becomes a problem. Over 1.5" or so and you'll gain positive camber on the outside front wheel (the one doing 85% of the turning) when you take a corner hard.
Seems like you care more about being low than great handling. If that's the case, coilovers are the way to go because you can crank em down to the ground. The lowest springs for the 5th gens are Tein Stechs, not sure about for 4th gens though.

well the reason i went with coilovers was to get the drop i wanted. i was looking at s-techs at first but 2.2'' wasn't going to get rid of my 4x4 stance because of the wheels i have. i decided to go with tein basics and have no regrets. for having big and heavy wheels my car performs really well imo.
