GREAT Headlight Polisher
GREAT Headlight Polisher
I wanted to help you guys out with the hazing so i posted this for you guys. It's a rub on, wipe off polish.
I recently purchased a headlight polisher on ebay, from upper_bound, with the money i had left on my debit card, i only had 8 dollars on it left and saw a headlight polish for 5.95 with FREE SHIPPING.
The guy ships fast and i am glad i bought this online. Saved me 50 dollars from purchasing the Plastix cleaner.
Here are my before and afters, i tried taking same angled shots to show the difference.

heres the product.

I did the same thing this weekend to the passenger side headlight (replaced one head light, and kept the old one). I used 2500 sandpaper (wet) and then moved to a headlight pad that you put into a drill, then rubbing compound, then to Mcguires headlight polish. Ive got the old headlight looking better than the new one so ive got some more work to do. BTW looks great
well, i tried plastix 50 dollar one from a friend, this ebay product i just bought came out better. Other one left little haze and this also works for Dashboard gauges, tail lamps, radio faceplates, turntable covers, sports helmets, cds, dvds, fish tanks, and other plastic goods.
This should, IMO, take out yellowing.
time to go, CAVS are losing. =(

I have both my headlights nicely polished at the moment, after 2000 grit wetsanding. I used some Plastx polish, and it will stay great for a day or two and then get a mild fogginess to it. All it takes is one good pass with more of the polish and it looks great again, but it doesn't last.
What kind of pads are you guys using to buff this stuff in? I'm currently doing it by hand, but have some sort of buffer in the basement I've never used that my dad got for free last summer.

Can't get anything past you! The kit I posted comes w/ buffing attachments for drills and a polish to remove the yellowing a lot of headlights get. What you got is a container of rubbing compound/polish.

^^^everything you need to know
I still have the glass housing for my headlights...
BUT my mom's solara was starting to cloud up and i used some ceramic cooktop cleaner and a soft cloth and buffed it on and buffed it off and it seemed to get the job done. I think its about 5$ at walmart. I think the brand is cook top.
