getting new rims/tires question -no pics-

getting new rims/tires question -no pics-

what i have now is 225 50r 17. what im looking at buying right now are some enkei with toyo tires 225 40r 18....i was wondering if the swap will be ok? Im not positive but isnt the middle number how wide the tire is? as long as the 225 match I should be ok? thanks

the first number is how wide it is in millimeters, the second number is how tall the tire is, as a percentage of its width. The last number is the diameter in inches. so 225/50/17 means its 225 millimeters wide, 112.5 millimeters tall and 17 inches diameter. Hope that helps you out a bit.

In the tire and wheel section there is a tire calculator in the stickies. You can input the stock size (205/65/15) and check on the calculator the size differences.

Oh, being from the Northwest, you should check out www.nwmaxima.com

I don't think we have any Idaho members, but you could start finding others from there.

I have relatives in Meridian and Nampa, so I know that area a little bit.

225-40-18 is way too small. 225-45-18s would be alot closer
