Polishing Stillen FSTB

I plan on following a similar routine as I did on the front valve cover but was wondering if anyone had tips that has done this. One thing in particular is: what grit (wet)sandpaper should I start/end with? I was thinking 600-1000-2000-polish. Any help much appreciated.

i polished an entire SHO intake manifold by hand a few years ago, i started off really low grit, started wet sanding at 800 up to 2000, then i polished with some compound, came out awesome

Start with 400 grit since it'll cut down faster. Then move up onto the 600 - 800 - 1000 -1500 - 2000

600 & ^ I use for surface prep before primer and polishing.

Yeah im interested in this too. The finish on my stillen FSTB is lookin pretty worn. I plan on polishing it, but wondering if you did it, and what steps/grits you used?

I just have not gotten around to it. Ace did not have up to 2000 grit so I wasted a trip there the other day. I'm sure it will come out fine because the surface seems "softer" than the VC and that came to near-mirror after a few hours spread over a couple sessions.

I am using a vibrating sander that I have used on the ports of my plenum and a few other spots with good results so I expect the project to be 2-3 hours at most from un-bolting to bling.

I'll post some pictures for Stillen guys when it's done.
