1/8 mile Improved. Go M/T!!!

Before, be it the 17" Borbets, or the Z32s, I got pretty consistant that this local 1/8mi track. The track really sucks- surface prep is caca, but its 20mins away, compared to Moroso (1/4mi) that is 1.5hrs away. Its a good track to practice really, thats about it.

From the last-last time (June 9th, Z32s @ 19psi, full tim, full tank of gas... 1500 fast slip and feather into WOT)
60'= 2.367
1/8= 9.826 @ 74.7

From June 23rd (M/T ET Drags, 24.5x8x15, mounted on sawblades, 19psi, full trim/ tank of gas... 4500 fast slip much faster going into WOT [not AS fast as I COULD go into it])
60'= 2.231
1/8= 9.550 @ 74.8

Its my 1st time out with the slicks so Im learning.

So already with me baby'ing the slicks, Im already doing .3 seconds better at the 1/8mi, and my 60' improved by .13 (much room for improvement here). Also, from going back and forth from this track and Moroso, I know that at Moroso I can do .1 better on the 60' automatically...

so if my ricer math is right, thats .3 (1/8mi improvement)+ .1 (better track prep)= .4 seconds faster, with the constant full trim, and full tank of gas. My previous best was a spinar00ny 14.5 (also full trim n full tank of gas), so -.4= ~14.1second full trim/ tank of gas family car???? Add better launching to that, perhaps some 2.0s or 1.9s and I'll finally hit 13s full trim .

Video from this run with slicks will come as soon as streetzlegend uploads them.

Questions-
- How much lower should I go on the pressure? I notice on the slicks when i got back home that the ripples of rubber were only after 1" after the sidewall, so on an 8" wide slick, Im only using about 6" worth.
- Should I finally do some weight savings (take out spare, front passenger and rear seats, 1/3 of tank of gas)?

Werd! better things to come

EDIT:
My 2nd run of that day on the slicks, against a GT with 20s (wtfmate), I launched on him no problem but I MISSED 2ND GEAR!!!! 1st time I missed a gear in almost a year FTL :-(... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Jpr9qf_rrU

My 3rd run, Best of the nite (the one I mentioned here). Thats a Datsun Z with a 350 on it. BTW, dont mind my big cloud of black smoke, thats my ECTS that Im changing today after work.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3495DSoP-Wc

Try dropping them to 15psi and then try 11-12.5 psi.

Also let streetz try your slicks out to see if he can finally hook.

I found 11-12psi to work best.
