I seem to be having problems posting. If my first questions ever show up I apologize for repeating myself. I would just like to know how easy it is to replace your own brake pads. I have not done work on cars before but I do believe that I am mechanically inclined. I just don't want to mess anything up on my car. Any help would be greatly appreciated .

Yeah, I read his write up and it seemed very simple. I just wanted some feedback from people that have actually done it. Basically I want to know if there is any way I could really mess it up.

 

For the rear pistons, you might need a special tool to compress them. Other than that, I don't think you'll mess up if you're mechanically inclined.

 

how about bleeding the brake fluid? any tips on that. is it necessary every time you change break pads?

 

you disconect the hose. For example if you changed the calipers or upgraded to stainless brake lines. Another reason you might want to bleed if there is air or moisture in the lines. You can tell this by a mushy feeling petal.
