2nd time at the track this time with traction bars
I went to the semi-local 1/8th mile back-country track last night to see if doing my suspension and building my traction bars would help my times. The 60' dropped by a full tenth and so did my 330' and 1/8th mile times. I'm still disappointed based on my mods.
Keep in mind that the stock 4th gen clutch starts slipping badly after a few passes and I'm running full trim with crap Potenza all-season tires (22 psi).
I'm not too worried about it because the 3.5 is going in within the next two months.
Here's the best and pretty consistent time of the night:
rt: .542
60': 2.152
330': 6.180
1/8th: 9.568
mph: 72.47

That's a really great street tire 60'. Get that clutch fixed and then you will be able to tell if it's the clutch that is hurting your times/traps or if you are missing power for some reason because you already know those traps are really low for your mods. I'd expect more like 77-78mph, heck even 79-80mph is a possibility in the 1/8th for those mods unless your car is really heavy.
edit: just noticed the part about the 3.5, nevermind the above (besides nice 60').

Thanks Neal. The car feels good, but just does not pull like it should. I plan to get a WB02 for the 3.5 swap, and install before the swap. I have a feeling it's starving for fuel.

Thanks Mike. I made the traction bars similar to JCLaw's but I welded a clevis bracket to the front of the LCA instead of using the access hole in the LCA.
Looking at MikeSDA sig, those are the times I should be running. I suspect there may be a problem with A/F. Has anyone heard of trouble with the car running lean after installing 00VI with 4th gen lower and injectors? I plan to get a WB02 and see where the A/F is landing >40% throttle. It might be time for some new 02 sensors as well.

Yes mikeSDA's times are fairly representative of what I'd expect an 00vi car to run, perhaps a bit on the slower end of the spectrum with regards to trap speed but the ET is right about where I'd expect. I'd say 97mph trap at a minimum all the way up to 100+ perhaps well into the low 100s.

Back to the drawing board on this platform. I'm just not satisfied with the results.
I was beginning to think it was my driving. After nailing some more seasoned racers and faster cars out of the hole and to the 330', I think I'm okay there.

I think my motor was on its way out since it blew up like 5 miles from the track 2 weeks later
but I know another thing killing me was the shift into 4th right before the end of the run
