Went to the track finally.

I went to englishtown NJ yesterday.

Only thing is I ran with my 19's ( long story) ..... So im not sure if my number are good or not ..... I think i would have hit 13s with regular rims... o well
I had some serious launching issues ....Couldnt get the tires to hook, then finally when they did I got such bad wheel hop my wipers kept going on and i had to ease off a bit....sucked... But im happy with my numbers.

13's will not be a problem with a wheel and tire change at the very less change the front wheels and tires when you hit the track

man that was a fast run ! agreed with the right tyres you could be in 13's even if you could knock your 60 ft down into the 2.1x range you would be awefully close !! nice run !

The plan was to use my friends nitto drag radials mounted on eclipse rims, but last minute his car wasnt running well at all and he didnt go.

So i ended up just running with these.

Your 60' is hurting you. It takes LOT'S of practice to launch. I usually come out of the hole at about 2800 rpm's and "feather" the clutch until I feel traction. I've able to get consistant high 2.1x or low 2.2x. I set the front pressure to 22lbs on my stock 18's.

Few questions...

Do you know how much do your rims weigh?
What was the weather like the day you ran?
Did you let the car cool off before your runs?

Nice to see a lot of people getting out this summer

Yep, lighter, smaller wheels will help for sure... that's a 13 sec car properly set up and launched.

I gotta figure out how to eliminate the wheel hop to, cause it was so bad my wipers were turning on.

I was launching at about 2500, and the car would just hop like crazy and I had to let off. Realy felt like my dash was gona fall apart...

I didnt drop any tire pressure cause the 19s are on rubber bands as it is...

Xjinct , is lenanon a nice track? I think im gona head up there soon and use my firends rim and tire combo..

Man that is the way my car does, it either bogs or wheel hops like crazy...my windshield wipers came on and my mirror fell of the windshield...lol I am only getting 2.4 60' times, I hope it's not just me and these cars are actually hard to launch.

lol the 5.5's get wheel hop worse then me. I think my worst was knocking out my fuse panel cover, popping open my change drawer, knocking my ipod from my cup holder onto my seat and knocking my phone out of my little pocket by the window controls. all that at once..i spun the wheels going up a hill taking and i hit a pot hole and BAM ive never gotten it that bad before. since then ive got a new tranny lol.

Nice times though, especially with the 19's. My freind couldnt lower his tire pressure on his 18's(vw jetta gli), hes running 225/40/18 and he was scared hed break the bead, there so little to begin with.

Do you think some traction bars would help alot with your wheel hop?

I'd try to drop the front tire pressure, that's what I do to lessen wheelhop. Also just don't launch that way. If your technique is giving you wheelhop, you've got to change techniques or you are going to break something. If you want to put parts on your car to try to help it then look at poly motor mounts, poly LCA bushings, traction bars, etc. Or just get slicks and you shouldn't have to worry about it and you'll be quicker too.

Lower tire pressure like what they said... It definitely does help with the wheel hop.

I can't give too much advice cause the best 60' I've had was a 2.2, and that was only one time when I was running completely stock! Damn these cheap all season brands!!!! Hate them all!

The maxima is actually pretty easy to launch imo.

Nice to see what kind of times the TSM maxima is running. Seen many many vids but finally a track time to go with it. Nice.

My new rims are much lighter than stock...
