TQ convertor removal???
TQ convertor removal???
Ive just pulled the engine and trans out as one unit and while looking for my chiltons manual i see that I have to remove the tq convertor acces hols and soin the crankshaft to acces each bolt. My question is how am i to do that as my motor is locked up?? The car in quuestion is a 95 max auto
If the engine won't turn then just undo the bolts surrounding the trans and pull it off. The only thing that will happen is that the TC will leak when you pull the trans away from the engine and the TC is still attached. Thats the only reason for removing the bolts attaching the TC to the flexplate. It is messy so be prepared for a quart or so to come out.

Basically you're screwed, but not totally. once you remove the lower & upper oil pan and unbolt the crank/rods you should be able to spin it to get at all the bolts, the rear-main seal & retainer wraps all the way around the crank and with the flywheel and tourqe convertor in place you still can't just pull the crank out w/tq attached. Have fun and post pics of the damage, I love seeing destroyed vq's
