So instead of painting the all clear tails i was thinking just throw em on as is. I just dont know how it will look on a black max? Anyone done this to a black max, or can someone photoshop one up so i can see what it would look like. I have to decided before the weekend what im doing with my tail lights.

Don't do it. I first did that when I bought my clears. In my opinion it is really ugly. Looks too half*ss.

Just a couple pointers...make sure you mask everything off that you don't want painted really well and use light coats so the paint doesn't run. Good luck. Post some pics when you finish.

 

ya i saw some lazy *** with the 3/4 clears on a dark max. looks gay and half assed definetly. paint it and get the sarona kit.

be careful on messing up, because i screwed up a pair of used clear tails. what i tried to do is paint the outside portion of the lamp, but it looks pretty retarded (it came out kinda pink and ugly). i would take the taillamp apart like davidL7 does and paint the opposite lense red (just like the stock outer taillamp, which is a real red lense). Just look at the outer taillamps and look at the red lense to check wut i'm talking about.

I would suggest looking at the stock tails before u paint. Otherwise, just get davidl7 to paint them, cuz he does a good job! I tried the candy apple red crap from pepboys and i hafta say that i don't think its the best paint out there. I'm not sure if that Japanese VANS taillamp spray is good, but its surely expensive (around $30). Anyway, hope this helps.
